The train ride was fun after John pulled me into the compartment. He introduced me to all the other people in the compartment. The two other guys were named Andrew and Robbie, and the girls name was Quinn. Andrew was quite tall and had green eyes and ink black hair. Robbie was thin and lanky, and he had brown eyes and blonde hair. Quinn was very small and thin, and her eyes were hazel and her hair was a chocolate colour. She seemed to shrink into the corner, and she didn't speak at all on the train ride, but she shot me a smile every once in a while.

Meanwhile I was still contemplating John's hair colour. It was a reddish-brown and I couldn't quite find the right word to describe it.

So I asked

"Hey, John what colour is your hair? I cant choose, its a reddish-brown."

"It's burgundy. I figure that's the word that best describes it."

"Hmm, burgundy. I like it."

And then the conversation went on. Both Robbie and Andrew were always talking, where as Quinn, John and I only joined in on parts of conversations. John sat off to the side reading a book. From what I could gather from the cover and the back of the book, it was about a kid named Simon who was actually a child secret agent. John seemed very excited about the book. That was the majority of the conversation between him and I.

Quinn had taken to sleeping, which I have no clue how she managed considering Robbie and Andrew's constant talking and the bumpy ride.

We finally heard somebody yell out that we had arrived at Hogwarts. We all looked around excitedly at each other, and we climbed out of the compartment. I had shook Quinn's shoulder, and we exited the compartment together behind John, who scurried ahead book in hand. We made our way out of the train, and heard something calling out saying,"Firs' years! Firs' years over here! I spotted the Potter boy talking to the large man who had just yelled to the first years. I recognized him from the day in Diagon Alley. I realized that he probably worked at Hogwarts. I leaned over and tapped Robbie's shoulder and asked him,

"Hey do you know who that big guy is?"

"Oh that's Hagrid." replied Robbie, as we continued walking towards him. "He's the Hogwarts grounds keeper."

"Oh alright. I didn't know who he was. I saw him in Diagon Alley."

We continued walking, John constantly bumping into others as he was so absorbed in his book. I recognized the  feeling, as I had been in the exact same situation many many times. Quinn and I ended up having to steer him as we walked towards Hagrid, with Robbie and Andrew leading the way.We finally reached Hagrid, and were taken with many other first years to some boats.

"No more'n four to a boat!" yelled Hagrid, pointing towards the boats. I climbed inside one with Quinn and John, who had finally set down his book, and Robbie and Andrew climbed into a boat with two other guys, who they proceeded to add onto their conversation.

The boats seemed to move on there own, and then

Hogwarts came into view

It was the most magnificent thing I have ever seen. The tall stone turrets were amazing, and the castle glimmered in the moonlight. I took it in for a moment, letting this feeling sink in. Then, I spotted out of the corner of my eye, that John had opened his book again, and was reading. Quinn was staring up at the castle with the some face of awe that I imagined I had. I tapped John's shoulder, and he looked up, spotting the castle, his jaw dropping. "I..I know, isn't it so bea-" I started but was cut off by John putting his hand over my mouth. "Shh." he said, still in awe. "Your ruining it."

So we sat there in silence, staring up at the castle.
