The Hunger Games 2 - The Flames

Chapter 2

After mum gave me the mockingjay pin , i put in my pocket in my jeans , i wasnt probably going to get choices of what clothes that i get to take to the arena with me so i thought of wearing just the sames jeans and a normal shirt with a hoodie. Tomorrow im off to the capital , im just hoping to keep Aunt Prim and Uncle Vicky  probably Maek but he useless alive until i die , but either im making an allie with someone incase i have lost them. Uncle Gale was preparing the dinning table with dad , they seemed of gotten along seen dad and mum came back from the 75th QQ. Me and mum made our way down to the dinning room to see Aunt Prim , Uncle Vicky , Haymitch and little Posy sitting at the table ready for the food to come.

I sat next Posy , she felt more comfortable sitting next to me than her brother Gale when shes over at mine. Dad and Uncle Gale brought out the food as Haymitch on the other hand was having a swig from the wine bottle like he usually does. The food looked really amazing , " Wow , Uncle Gale that looks amazing!" i blurted out. "Thanks Amanda , i might aswell make it beautiful since its your last day here before your off" he picked up a knife and cut me a piece of the wonderful wild turkey he caught earlier. "Amanda , dont go " Posy said as her eyes teared up. " I have too , i'll be back i promise i will , just make sure your doing what your meant to do in school okay" i gently rub her shoulder. She nods as she slowly eats her food trying not to cry.

After the dinner was finished , i went upstairs to prepare myself for the games , i got everything i needed i put it in my backpack which had the exact same mockingjay on the front as the pin mum gave me before we ate dinner. I made my way down into the huge garden with my bow and arrow , i saw some  wild turkeys running around our garden so i decided to use them as my target and shot about 9 using 10 arrows. I didnt notice but there was someone standing by the watching my every move. " See what you can do , and you thought you couldnt do anything at all." i lowered the bow to the side of body still having grasp of the bow in my hand i turn around to see my father Peeta standing there. "Were you there the whole time?" i asked him suspiciously , he shrugged , i pretended that if he didnt tell me that he was id shoot him , "Okay okay i was , your just like your mother , wild and beautiful" his hands are in the air as he laughs at his surrender." Just dont tell anyone what i can do please dad" as i walk towards the door as it was getting cold outside. "I  wont" he said "You might wanna get the wild turkeys you shot" he reminded me as i passed over the bow to him as a i ran to collect all 9 wild turkeys i killed clutching on their necks.

"Katniss , rememer to take your daughter to the train station tomorrow" Haymitch points towards me as hes probably drunk and almost half blind. "Haymitch, when are you going to get this right! , im Amanda! , i get it i look like mum but im not her" the room falls silence as he laughs making he way to the front door to go home , everyone stared at me , it was embarrasing , i changed the subject "Look what i killed guys!" the room filled with gasps as they discovered i actually killed something for the first time , not really i killed a squirrel , a rabbit and turkeys this week.

It was time to go to bed , Uncle Vicky called in sick saying that he couldnt make it the games , but he was forced anyway , the capital only made him go for their own stupid entertainment which i didnt find very amusing. I went off to sleep as i hear mum and dad talking loudly in the room next door. " I gave her the mockingjay pin i wore in the games" , "why?! you dont know whats going to happen after we won" , " we lived that moment already , and it wont happen she isnt a rebel like i was" Rebel? mum a rebel?. Okay , those 11 points was for her bow and arrow into the pigs mouth in the peacemakers area.

It was the day i board the train with the rest of the tributes from our district. Dad was our mentor , luckily we didnt have Haymitch cause he would have kept on calling me Katniss. The train looked old fashioned and rusty ,we got out our cars we rode to the train station in as camaras flashed in our faces as we were pushed closer and closer to the train. I got in , everything inside looked very luxuary i see a picture on the wall saying. "Katniss Everdeen and Peeta Mellark Victors of district 12 2016" I stood there in a spot were i first saw young looking picture of mum and dad. Primrose came on after i did and stood behind me " They look so young , and next will be you up there for sure" i turn around , for sure? , how is she supposed to know if i was going to win or not.

We are directed to sit down , as the train starts up as we leave the station of district 12 , i see mum running as the train slowly dissappears in the distance saying remember the pin Amanda. i didnt quiet hear her , but i reached into my jeans pocket and remember the pin , i attached it to my shirt. Mark Madson was sitting opposite me reading one of he stupid books again. "Alright everybody , its a day and half ride to the capital , once we arrive we will meet up with your prep team and your clothing designers Cinna and Portia" Effie said with a new hairstyle. "Peeta Mellark , will be your mentor this year he and i will train all 4 of you either personally or together" i smiled as my dad is with me today until i enter the arena with the other tributes.

The train came to its first stop in district 9 for some fuel , it was probably going to take an hour or so , i got out the train for some fresh air and a little strech , i was followed my Mark , he looked like he got something to tell me , " Amanda wait!" he shouted as he ran up to where i stopped "Whats wrong Mark?" i walked along the train tracks further up with him , " Here read this" he gave me a piece of paper as he ran back and got on the train. It was all folded up and he told me to read it , "Come on Amanda time to get back on the train dear" dad shouted out at me from where he was as i jumped on the nearest train cabin i could and walked all the way back to the sitting room where everyone awaits to chat about the training session a day after we get to the capital after the ceremonie.

"Okay ladies and gents , we all have different talents in this very room now can you tell me what they are" Dad asked all of us "I can shoot 9 wild turkeys with 10 arrows" i said moments after he asked the question "Thats amazing Amanda , that can come in hand in the games , anyone else?" , "i  can throw spears and knives from a far distance" as Mark said along with Uncle Vicky agreeing that he can to , " All i can do is sort out remides for illnes" Prim said. " Okay , thats the talents we all have here , now we want you to use those skills in the game." The words got to me , i suddenly knew what i was going to do .....
