Kelley's POV
'I need to talk to you'
'Hope! Thank god, where are you?'
'Not important. Say you'll meet me'
'Of course, I'll meet you. Just come home'
'I'm coming home'Hope had reached out. She's alive, she's okay. Seeing her name on my screen again, even though it was just a text, it meant everything.
I couldn't stop smiling as I was looking at the conversation, even though it had now been over an hour since the last text had popped up. It wasn't a long conversation, but it meant so much to the both of us. I know that.It was still early, 11:43am to be exact. I was supposed to meet Moe at noon for coffee, maybe I should cancel that now? No. There's no need, we should probably talk anyways.
My thoughts got distracted as my phone rang. My heart raised rapidly as I saw the name of the goalkeeper on my caller ID.
"Hope?"
"I'm sorry, is this Kelley?" An unfamiliar male voice spoke on the other end, and i felt my insides tighten. What's going on.
"Yes, who's this?" I answered skeptical.
"I'm officer Sinc, do you know the owner of this phone?" He asked again, and I immediately got a terrible feeling as he spoke.
"I-yes. She's my, I know her. What happened?" I tried keeping it together, but I felt my voice trembling under my breath.
"Can you give me a name? Are you immediate family? Your number was the only one on the favorites in her phone book." He continued, sounding somewhat relieved that I knew her. I didn't know what to think at that moment.
"Hope Amelia Solo. She's my- friend. I'm her friend. Please tell me what's wrong." I was begging at that point. And I wasn't sure what to say. What is Hope to me? She's definitely not just a friend, but she's not more either.
"Your friend's been in a car accident. It looks like she may have been texting- well, you whilst driving. She drove into the opposite side of the road and met a passing truck. It's critical at this point." He spoke the words carefully, but still demand. They faded out from my reach eventually. Just few keywords would stick out in my mind, light up to haunt me.
Crash, texting, me, truck, critical.I didn't know what to do. I felt my breath become unsteady and it was hard to breath. The man on the other said something more, but I couldn't focus on the conversation. He eventually hung up and I let the phone fall to the floor. My eyes were flooding with tears at this point, and they slowly started to make their way down my cheeks.
Without thinking, I started making my way to the front door. Then I headed out. I didn't know where to, but I needed to get away.
Hope's been in an accident. The words haunted me. The fact that she had been texting me, it was partially my fault. How was I ever supposed to live without her, let alone live with the fact that I did that to her. The thought itself broke me apart, it took everything in me not to break down on the ground. I needed to keep walking, keep pretending I had a purpose.
I had no measurement of time, but I had probably been walking around for hours. Just clouding my thoughts with poison and dangerous self destruction.
Without realizing it, I found myself standing on Morgan's doorstep, a complete mess.
I didn't know what I was doing here, and when I saw her car drive into the entrance a little while later, I let my mouth say whatever it wanted to at that point."I need you to take me to the hospital."
Morgan looked at me with sad eyes. She knew what I meant, and I saw that it broke her heart. Probably in more ways than one.
"Of course, yeah." She was shaking her head a little, like she was trying to get her thoughts away from something else. I felt sorry for the younger girl, for putting this on her.
But right now I needed to put whatever this was aside, and go see Hope. I needed to see her. There was no way I was going to let her get away with this. That stubborn goalkeeper, always making a big deal out of everything. This is just the tip of the iceberg really.**
Ashlyn's POV
"Here you go." Ali handed Carli and I a cup of coffee each, before she left to get her own. She came back shortly and sat down next to me on the couch. I let my hand rest on her thigh.
"I can't believe this is happening." Carli breathed out, still in shock just like the rest of us. This is like a nightmare. We don't have all the details yet, we actually don't know much. But Hope's been in an accident. Apparently a police officer had contacted Carli, seeing as she was one of the most called in her phone book. He said he had spoken to someone else before her, we assume it's Kelley, but she's not picking up now and it's just all messy. Carli couldn't even finish the conversation, I had to call the hospital myself to get any updates. She's apparently I surgery and we're not allowed to see her. They have no idea how she's doing.
"We'll get through this, Car." I spoke up, trying to convince one of my best friends that it was in fact going to be okay, even though I had no idea if it would be.
"Ash, your phone." Ali suddenly pointed at my vibration phone on the couch, and I quickly answered Alex's call.
"Alex, any news on Kelley?" I asked the second I picked up, not wasting any time on warm hello's at this point. Seemed like Alex was thinking the same thing as spoke back.
"She's with Morgan. Apparently the officer called her first but she left her phone at home. She's not doing good, but at least she's not alone. They're going to the hospital now, I told them we'd all meat them there." Alex was quick and demand in her words, which was good at this point. We were not capable of making much decisions ourselves right now.
"Morgan shouldn't have to deal with Kelley and all this on her own." Alex added, sounding worried about the young mid as well.
"Okay, of course not. We'll get going." I asked back, and hang up shortly after.
I turned back to Ali and Carli, who both looked concerned and curious towards me."Morgan's taking Kelley to the hospital, Alex and he others are on their way. We should get going." I informed them, and figured I should take the rest as we got in the car. There was no time to waste, and I too felt sorry for the younger girl now all alone with a clearly broken Kelley on her hand. We need to get there.
(A/N: Hope's home! ..Happy?)
