A/N: I was thankfully reminded that some Talex is way overdue.

Alex's POV
"I'm done for the day, wanna hit the field?" Tobin leaned against the far side of my locker, smiling happily as she spoke. She looked so good in her tank top and jeans, topping it off with a perfectly messy bun. I put in the last of my books and closed the locker.
"Sure." I smiled back, pulling her closer to me by the hem of her shirt. On the spur of the moment, I wasn't thinking further than Tobin's kissable lips, and acted on pure instinct. Tobin hesitated on the other hand and looked around, tensing slightly up as she saw all the people around us. No one were specifically paying us any attention, but a kiss wouldn't go unnoticed.
"Are you sure we should-" Tobin started speaking, but I interrupted her. I was tired of keeping it low key, I simply didn't see the point. Most people knows about us by now, and it's not like we have anything to hide.
"I don't care." I whispered back, keeping her close to me. She met my eyes, and after some intense staring she cracked a smile and leaned in herself. Our lips met in that known firework feeling, and her hands cupped my face gently. The kiss didn't last long, we both knew PDA still wasn't our thing, but a simple 'hello' after class wouldn't hurt anybody. I was happy we seemed to be on the same page. We're really lucky, it's gotten more clear recently with everything else going on. Poor JJ and her mother, then there's the Kelley mess that's not exactly easy to deal with. Everyone seem to have something bad going on, but for once I am just happy. Of course I worry for the others, I'm not ignorant towards them, but my relationship doesn't need to suffer just because everyone else's does.

We got to the field and met up with a couple other teammates who had a free period or where done for the day. I heard a bunch of classes were cancelled today so one group were at lunch together and others just at home, but I was happy with being right here.
"So prom is coming up, you guys planning on going?" Amy looked over at Tobin and I, as we were all taking a break in the middle of the field. I shrugged my shoulders in response, honestly not having given it that much thought. I figured Tobin and I would go together, I guess that one's kinda obvious. Then again, prom is not really Tobin's thing, and frankly it's not more important to me than keeping her happy so we'll see.
"I'm sure I could drag this one along." I made a joke, only now noticing Tobin's uncomfortable shifting next to me. She suddenly seemed aggravated somehow.
"A-rod!" She sort of hissed out between her teeth, followed by a loud sigh. I frowned in confusion, and so did Amy as she was sitting down next to us now.
"Sorry." Tobin mumbled out, inhaling deeply in an attempt to calm down apparently. I think she knew she overreacted about something."I just wanted to ask you, like formally to be my date. I wanted to make a thing out of it, you know." She continued, now talking calmly. I felt my lips corner into a smile, and my heart got a warm and fuzzy feeling from her words. "It's stupid." She added, trying to brush it off now. I couldn't wipe the smile off my face. She had not only thought about going to prom with me, but actually kinda wanted to make it a big deal. I was beyond shocked, but in a very positive way. Tobin, whom I've never heard ever say she actually wanted to go in the first place. I always assumed she thought it was kinda stupid, but she was willing to go for me.
"I love you." I blurted out, as Tobin's eyes shot to my direction. She seemed to be the confused one now. "That's so sweet of you. Really, but you didn't have to do that." I continued, assuring her that I was okay with not going.
"I know I didn't have to, but I wanted to." She said back, mirroring my smile now.Hadn't it been for me clearly seeing Amy's slightly disturbed face in the background, I would've gone all in, but a simple hug would have to do for now. Tobin knew what I meant, and gladly accepted it. I took in her sent, squeezed her tight into me.
"Guys." Whitney suddenly ran over to us, causing Tobin to pull away from me. We looked up and followed her gaze to the parking lot. A car had parked there now, and seconds later two people emerged from different sides.
"Hope, what are you-" Carli mumbled some words as she now stood next to us, already walking in their direction. Kelley and Hope walked towards us, both seemingly in a good mood. I hadn't talked to Kelley about that whole situation for some time, but it sure looked like she had forgotten to update us. My gaze quickly shifted to Tobin and we both shared a mutual look of confusion.
Hope stopped with Carli a few steps ahead and out of our hearing rage, while Kelley kept walking over to us. We all just watched her.
"Hey." She said as she did a little wave, pretending everything was perfectly normal. I couldn't help but glance over at Hope and Carli, who seemed to be in a somewhat intense conversation at the moment."O'Hara. You guys wanted to put in some extra hours too, huh?" Whitney smiled politely to Kelley, breaking the awkward silence. I have no idea why we all acted so weird, but personally I was just shocked to see Kelley with Hope. Even though I probably shouldn't be. I don't know.
"Yeah, figured we'd find some of you here." Kelley said back, now taking a ball that was just lying around to her feet. As she did, Hope and Carli joined us, both looking distracted.
"Ready to play?" Kelley turned to Hope, and they did that usual too long staring thing that they always used to do. Hope eventually nodded, before stealing the ball from Kelley's feet with a smile and taking off towards the goal. Kelley rolled her eyes with a smirk and followed the older girl out on the field."What the hell did we miss?" Tobin whispered over to me, as we both still had those confused facial expressions. Kelley and Hope acted like- well, they acted like Kelley and Hope again. It was strangely confusing because we should be expecting this, and we should even be happy it's happening, but I just really need to know how the hell it happened. Also, what the hell happened to Moe. I have a lot of questions.
"You guys coming?" Kelley yelled from the field, looking at us. Tobin and I both sighed in unison with a couple fellow teammates before we all joined them to play.
