After all these years

A.N. Sorry this is so late. I just haven't got round to writing this chapter 😁 I was going to write another one but I just never got round to it as I've been procrastinating all day but I'll do 3 updates tomorrow! If you're reading this from the future, you probably don't care about this so I'm going to get on with the chapter now.

Caitlin's POV
I could kind of see where Dan was coming from when he asked me to leave his room. I hadn't got to know him well enough. After all this time, I hadn't thought to attempt to contact them once. I hope I can make it up to him. In the mean time, I think I'll go and talk to Phil. He is my brother's best friend and he's pretty good looking. (A.N. I cringed writing that part idk why 😂)

Dan's POV
I rethought about what I said to Caitlin and started to feel quite mad at myself. I mean, she meant well and I'm sure she has a reason why she didn't keep contact for all these years. She seems quite nice and I hope that we can be as close as we used to be again. I should probably talk to her. I start to think of what I'm going to say.

Dans POV
I had figured out what I was going to say and decided I would practise. I couldn't practise in the mirror as if anyone heard, they'd think I'm strange. I don't think it'd be a problem if I practised with Phil but I don't want him worrying about me. The best person for me to practise with would be Holly. I asked her if I could practise a speech with her and she agreed. After I told her what I was going to say to Caitlin, she cried and brought me into a tight hug.
"I know you two were like best friends. This will definitely make you two close again." She smiled and gave me a high five. I took a deep breath and headed towards my door, Holly by my side.
"Here goes nothing." I mumbled to myself. I walked around, looking for Caitlin. After a while, I found Caitlin sat talking to Phil in the dining room. I took another deep breath.
"Caitlin, there's something I need you to know..."
"I'm listening. You look quite scared though. Don't do anything you're uncomfortable with." She smiled to me.
"Ok, I've been trying to find the perfect thing to say to you and this may take a while. Caitlin, I remember when we were little and you helped me with my homework when I'd have a tantrum because I didn't understand it. You were so patient with me. You were also the first person I came out of the closet to and you supported me with everything. But how do I repay you? I kick you out of my room and act like I never want to speak to you again. Basically, Caitlin. I don't want to know why you didn't keep in contact with us when I was growing up. I just hope we can be as close now as we were back then and have full trust in each other and help each other through everything. I love you Caitlin, you're the best sister I could ever wish for and now we just have each other, and grandma. I'm sorry I was rude earlier. Am I forgiven?" I did it and I was so relieved that I got that off my chest. Caitlin was smiling from ear to ear and she brought me into a tight but comforting bear hug.
"If I'm forgiven too."
"Of course you are, sister."
"I love you, brother."
