Chapter 22

It was the next day. Aiden kissed me. I'm not sure, if he meant it or if it was like the kiss he gives all the girls he never really liked, maybe it wasn't that but who knows.

I awoke to the sound of rain pattering against the glass, some water had fallen in as the window was opened. I went to close it and went to get changed. I would love to sleep in, who doesn't like the sound of rain. I had chosen a dress and matching heels to go with it. I know a dress in this weather, just know the weather changes a lot here.

I put my hair into the classic half up and half down style, I had my bag packed yesterday so I just grabbed my phone and made my way downstairs. Dylan wasn't awake yet, and it was already getting late. Now is the time I regret what I wore. I had to walk all the way to school. Great.

I took my Nike wind cheater so I wouldn't get wet in the pouring rain. When everything was done, I went outside. It wasn't cold, just humid, with rain pouring down.

I made my way to school, it was pretty quiet, I was early anyway. I went to my locker, waiting for Alison but she wasn't here, maybe she's coming later. I opened my locker, taking the books I needed and putting some away and putting my coat away too.I closed it, and sat against the lockers.

He was there. Standing right in front of me. Well opposite me, sitting how I was, he made it as if I wasn't even real.Avoiding him, I looked at my phone. Someone tapped my shoulder and I looked up. I was now facing Alison, who didn't look pleased.

"You're so weird, your party sucked, I don't even know why I'm friends with you, you made people think I'm friends with a psycho, can't you ever think about others and not yourself, everything is about you Demi, I thought you changed, I thought you were popular, not the geek everyone hated, I'm wasting my time with you, it should have been you -" she stopped, to look at Aiden.

" Even Aiden doesn't like you, it's normal to dislike someone like you" she finally stopped shouting, everyone in the corridor, which was now slowly filling up with people,stopped and looked.She was about to say something else but Sam had stopped her. He slapped her across the face. She touched her face in shock.

" What the hell are you doing, don't blame her for something she never did, it wasn't even her party, Aiden threw it for her, why don't you have ago at him and not Demi, I can't believe I'm going out with someone who thinks like you, you liked her cause she was getting popular, I thought you knew better, I'm done with you, and I apologise in behalf of my crazy ex treating you like you're not human" with that he walked off, Alison went running behind him.

I ignored everything she said really, it's not the first she did this, my eyes blurred from the tears which I wiped later.

" Are you okay?" Someone asked.

I turned to see who it was, it was Aiden.

" In the whole world with so many people , you're the only one who always has to comfort me, really?"

" Well if you want to put it in that way, yes, I heard everything that Alison said, and it didn't sound pleasant. About yesterday, I just wanted to say-" I stopped him from talking, I saw Clary standing at the entrance, she's finally here.

Clary was my first best friend, well she and Aiden were, I met Alison and Sam later on in life. She moved away after her mom died, she wasn't feeling the same, everything here reminded her of her mom. She finally came back. I pushed Aiden away, and ran to pull her into a hug. She lost her balance, but stopped herself from falling, she hugged me back.

" I thought you forgot me" she said.

" How can I forget a person who's just like me" I replied.

" You've changed" she said.

" You have too, I can't believe you're here,so tell me what's your first period?" I asked.

" History"

" Same, come with me then"

" Oh damn, that's Aiden, he has changed, hasn't he"

" aww does Clary here have a crush on Aiden"

"Not really, I thought you did, he's all yours"

" Alright then"

She waved at Aiden, and pulled him with us, he didn't say anything but hugged Clary, we walked together to class.

" As you may know, we have a student who returned after leaving us in 7th grade, please make her feel welcomed, and treat her like she's human, not all here know how too do they- get your textbook out, and turn to page 250, I apologise to Demi and Clary, I'm sorry, please read the information and answer the questions below, I will check before you go" he stated at sat back at his desk.

" So Demi, what's changed"

" Well nothing, unless you count the times that me, Aiden and Jack were attacked, while Jack nearly died as a normal thing then nothing really"

" What.. You're joking right"

" Am I?"

" Aiden, she's joking right?"

"Nope, it's true, that's why most people are disliking Demi cause the party was invaded by police and it finished early, I don't think they cared about the birthday girl,sorry"

" Woah so much has changed, please tell me you two go out, you always said that when you were eight, she was your girl"

" Well no, people change, we fell out and now we're okay, but yeah"

" But what? but she's still my girl or but she isn't I have another girl"

" None of the above"

" Hmm okay, what do we have next?"

" We have English, Aidens with us so we can go together"

"Sure"

" What about Alison?"

" We're not really friends, I don't think we are but yeah"

" oh you have me anyway"

"True"

We did have English and other subjects, we even sat together like we all did during lunch,even Aiden was kind enough to join. School finished and we all made our way home. Clary moved back to her old house, which is one block to my right while Aiden lives to the left. We basically all neighbours, who are best friends well minus Aiden and make him as a "just a friend".

I just hope life doesn't get worse, I hope it stays the way it is.
