Chapter 34

"We need a plan,we need to know who unknown is" Demi stated while she paced around her room.

"Death wish more like" Aiden added.

Demi scoffed and went back to what she was doing. It had been a week since they lost their friend, still hurt, still confused.

"Why can't we call him, You can pretend to work with him...or her" Demi stopped to say those words, she gave up and fell on her bed, she let out a breath, one she didn't know she was holding.

"And you think this will work?" Aiden asked with confusion written across his face.

"Nah then, why do you think I brought that up for?" she asked while throwing her pillow which he caught, he simply shrugged and nodded.

"So what? I call unknown up and say I always hated you and I want to work with you, oh and I'll do anything you ask?" He said sarcastically.

"Exactly" Demi nodded

"Here, Message unknown" she added while handing her phone.He took her phone and started to type.

He had forwarded the message, unknown had already replied.

"Whoever it is said I need to kill you" he said looking down at his hands.

"Great, say yes, you can always pretend and then make it come here, I need to know who this is" Demi pleaded while holding his hands.

"Tonight get ready to lose everything" Aiden said while he cracked a grin.

"Joking" he added.

"Ha-Ha, what did it say" Demi asked.

"I'll meet you, I'll be there watching you do it, that's what it said" Aiden said giving her phone back.

"Tonight, we finally get to find who unknown is" Demi whispered..

Aiden simply nodded, he was curious but not as much as Demi.

Time went by, quickly really, Demi wondered when Unknown will appear, she checked her phone it displayed the time on her cracked screen, it was eight, it was getting pretty late, they planned that Aiden would dress in all black and "pretend" to kill her which probably may not work.

She was alone, just herself at home, waiting for Aiden.

The door to her house opened she could hear it from her room, Aiden was coming up, the floorboards creaked with every step, she heard the knock on the door, walking towards it she opened it, she had to admit she was scared when seeing Aiden, she couldn't see his face but she was sure it was him.

There he stood, looking at her, all in black, it was the exact replica, the mask,it was as if unknown was standing there.

"Finally, what took you so long?" she said.

She waited for a reply and never got it.

"Really,you're not going to say anything" she asked looking at him, he just stood there and she stood in front.

She got multiple messages, she unlocked her phone and read it, she was in shock really.

Aiden: Sorry, I'm late, I'll be there any minute.

She looked up to see the figure, she really was an idiot, he walked towards her, she really did try to hide that she was afraid, she walked backwards but met a dead end, she loved her bed but it really didn't help in the situation.

"Friend, look I messed up in life, I'm sorry if I hurt you, I don't know what I did, let's talk over hot chocolate,it may help warm your cold heart" she spat those words at him, while cracking a grin.

He was very close to her, she could smell the musky smell, she smelt it before, not that it helped now.

He held something, a metal it gleamed against the room light, it was a knife it seemed pretty sharp, she got a glipse of the text Aiden sent.

Aiden: you left the door open?

Maybe if Aiden came quicker nothing bad could happen right?

But it was too late he struck her in the shoulder, she let out a scream,she felt the knife ripping through her flesh, pain started spreading across her body, like poison, he didn't let her fall, he held her petite body and rested her on the blood stained floor.

Tears blurred her vision, she could feel the blood dripping from the wound, he leant down and said sorry, she didn't know why, but he struck her again, in the torso, she didn't have enough energy to even scream, just a muffled cry came from her mouth, she held onto her stomach, wishing this was just a twisted nightmare, Unknown walked away, she could see Aiden running past him, he fell on his knees and held her, he rested her head on his knees, she smiled.

"I can die in the arms of my first love" she whispered.

He couldn't speak only cried, he couldn't lose her, not Demi.

"Just stay with me, please, I can't lose you, I beg you just stay, for me hold on, this was a stupid idea, listen to me, I love you, always have-open your eyes, say something, anything"

She closed her eyes, she could hear the muffled screaming, she really wanted to reply, but she couldn't, with her mind falling into a black abyss she let go, guilt washed over her, she didn't want to leave him, maybe she could stay......
