Of the rules of which no one speaks,
there are many.
And there resemblance is uncanny.
They all say something different,
yet they all mean the same thing.
Society's rules rule, when they are silent.
And the strangest thing is we hate silence.
But we cannot stop listening to it.
Silence is powerful.
The unspoken is powerful.
There must be some strange magic that hovers over words that are never said but understood,
That we all hear it as if they were shouted at us.
We can see it everyday,
in the magazines and papers,
It's even clearer with the websites
and its opinionated haters,
That just be cause the words aren't spoken doesn't mean they are not there.
Every day we are told about beauty,
Every day it is shoved in our face,
The ideals that for some people,
no matter what,
that image can never be replaced.
It is branded in our minds
we could dream it if tried,
it is etched into our souls
that this is what should control you,
own you, hold you
until you are a part of it.
People ruin their lives over unspoken words.
No one believes the words that they speak,
It is the unspoken rules that we believe.
