A period is basically your body's way of cleaning itself. Your period occurs when an egg was not fertilized, which means it basically was not used. Our body's carry a lot of toxins, or trash that is not needed. If the egg was not used during the time of ovulation, then the body needs to get rid of it, because there is no longer a use for it. Now the body is smart, and does things as effeminately as possible. Instead of just getting rid of the egg, the body hits two targets with one shot, and gets rid of unessisary waste and chemicals and bacteria as well. Blood is used to help get everything out. When your body realises that your not going to be having a baby, the walls of your uturise shed. Kind of like how a dog sheds fur. But along with this, blood basically just helps move everything along and get out the way its supposed to.
