Hello Kitty's!!!!! So I know that this is something that a lot of us struggle with. *Currently at lunch drinking a soda as I write this*......eating healthy at school...and on a budget. So most high schools allow students to eat off campus or at least have a few fast food joints to grab a bite to eat. So eating healthy with all the junk food around me is super hard, and it's probably hard for y'all too. So this is kinda how I eat on a day to day basis and my tips on putting god into your body.

So I'm going to be honest and say that I eat soup every day of the week as a side dish. My school has a cafe that sells coffee sandwiches and soups. I highly recommend getting soups as a small side to go with your meal instead of chips. A cup of soup costs me 1.89 and a bag of chips is 1.59. So for 20 cents more I get a healthy side and something that will help keep me full until dinner. Plus a bag of 15 chips is like 195 calories but my cup of chicken noodle soup is 205. Not only am I getting more for my money as a side, I'm having to spend less on snacks after lunch because i'm still full.

Go for more whole foods. We have a burger place that sells well burgers and fries and shakes. *shakes head at every one spending 8 bucks on a burger* Instead go for a turkey sandwich with tomato and avocado, or my current fav, bean burritos. Sandwiches and burritos are great because again they fill you up fast. And normally way cheaper too. A burger is obviously beef which is a red meat. This is cool to have once in awhile, but it's really not good for you. That's why I say turkey sandwich or even chicken is good too. But stay away from ham. Same goes for the burritos. Stay with chicken or beans, and try not to get asada. White meats are good protein that get you through the day. Red meats clog your arteries and lead you to a heart attack.

Try to get tea or water. I know.. Its lunch time.. You just sat through 4 hours of a teacher talking... And you got all your homework right.. And you want a soda. I am so guilty of grabbing a soda before I pay for my food. But it's better to just grab water or tea is even better. Remember: Whole foods.

This is kinda just side note to help you save some money. I always get the combos and it legit saves me so much money than buying it all separate. Lets look at what I ate today as an example

1. Side chicken noodle soup- 1.89

2.Bean and cheese burrito- 1.79

3. small soda-1.95

If I were to order it separate I would have payed 5.69

I ordered the "bean and cheese combo" And payed 3.25

That saved me almost 3$ that I can use for tomorrow's lunch or maybe if I need to help a friend out or just still. Thats money saved. Order the combos. Especially if you know you may need to go back for seconds. Hey it happens. Remember that day you forgot breakfast?

So I personally hate packing lunch because when I get to eat it it's super soggy. And that's kind of how I eat healthy and on a budget every week. I'll be honest and say that I spend about 20$ A week on food at school and that includes breakfasts lunches snacks and dinners. (depending on when I'm in school) And yes I googled it everything that I said I eat is healthy and I looked at the schools nutrition sight for restaurants.

One last thing. Don't waste food. This makes me so mad when my friends will buy a combo and throw away half the meal. Only buy what you're going to eat. 1. this saves you money. 2. you won't waste food. There are so many people who would love to have what you threw away. Before you order stop and ask yourself how hungry you really are.

Yay!!! So that's it Kitty's!! Its really not that hard huh? I know thats its hard to stay motivated when those twinkies are only a dollar but remember: yolo!! jk jk don't eat the twinkie go buy a burrito. Anyways good luck Kitty's =^^=
