Ch. 14 - The Forest of Death

I was standing next to Hinata, Kiba and Shino. The other remaining teams were around us and we were all staring at Anko that was standing in front of a huge fence. I still couldn't believe that they chose someone like her as the proctor of the next exam... She just looked like she had some serious problems. '' The 44th training area... '' she said and a grin appeared on her face. '' Also know as the Forest of Death. ''  

I was mostly looking around and at the sign on the fence that was saying 'stay back or you may die' and at the remaining teams. I smiled at Shikamaru that was leaning on a tree next to Ino and Choji that was munching on chips like usually.  

My eyes travelled to the Sound team made of Sumiko, Mei in Kaito. They didn't seem concerned about the exams. They were standing under a tree, chatting and looking in my direction. I still had a bad feeling about them. I was hoping that it'll go away once I'll talk to Sumiko and say that we could be friends but it was still there.  

Then there was Kaori's team. They weren't really listening to Anko because Yasu was holding Kotori back so she wouldn't jump at Kiba while Tsubaki was standing in front of them and looking really creepy because of the way her glasses were shining under the sun. Hm, the crazy girl that talked about herself in the third person, the smart girl with the creepy glasses and the tough guy... They could really have a shot in 'which team is the weirdest' competition. For once, someone would actually beat ours. 

I looked away from Kotori, yelling that 'Kotori wants to see her Kiba-kun' and my eyes travelled to Gaara, Temari and Kankuro. Temari smiled at me and I grinned back at all of them before I kept looking around.  

Team Madoka was also there. Ren seemed serious and annoyed about something. He was probably itching to start a fight with Sasuke. Sakura told me that after I left them there they had a fight about who was stronger and then Ren said that Sasuke's dream about killing his brother was stupid (yeah, I was the one who told him about that... My bad). I was guessing that they were going to fight each other pretty soon. Next to Ren was Hitomi. A few people were still staring at her and her axe with shock. Finally there was Ryo and considering that he was also my friend I couldn't help it but to feel concerned about how he was going to pass the exams. Even if I shouldn't be, considering that everyone kept telling me how this wasn't the place for making friends.  

There were a lot of other, dangerous looking team. Suddenly Naruto's yelling about how he wasn't scared caught my attention again. My eyes widened when I noticed how Anko threw a kunai at him, making a small wound open on his right cheek. Then Anko appeared behind him. '' Boys like you are the first ones to die in the forest. '' Then she... licked the blood from his cheek? 

I felt how my eye began twitching. 

Now she turned from a lady with problems to a creepy scary lady with problems. Perfect. This day was just getting better and better.  

That was when a guy... Or was it a lady?... Hm, let's go with a guy. His weirdly long tongue was wrapped around the kunai that Anko threw at Naruto...  

I shivered at the sight of his long tongue. Creepy.  

Anko walked back to the fence and said: '' There's also something else that you have to do before we start the second part of the exam. I'm going to pass these out to everyone. '' She pulled out a couple of papers from her coat. I frowned. Consent forms. '' Those are consent forms. If you are taking the exam you must sign those. ''  

'' Why? '' Naruto asked, as clueless as awlays.  

That was when a happy grin appeared on her face and she simply said that because when someone'll die in there she won't be responsible.
