I pounce on Ian and we both hit the floor. Several waitresses have already gathered around us, trying to stop me but I can't control myself. When he mentioned this restaurant, it brought back all the memories Katherine and I had before he ruined everything. We barely got to have any normal time together before he came into the picture and practically destroyed all of our lives.

My fists uncontrollably meet his jaw again and I can hear Katherine yelling at me to stop. I never understand why she hates when I fight, especially after all that he's done. The manager of the place finally gets between us and he holds me back until Ian walks out of the restaurant. I spit out some blood onto the floor, unaware that he even hurt me.

Before I get the chance to explain myself, Jenna looks back and forth between Katherine and I and runs out of the restaurant. We watch her from the window as she meets with Ian and it almost looks like she's comforting him. What the hell?

"David!" Katherine shouts and brings me out of my adrenaline rush. She must have been calling my name for a few minutes now. I look towards her and she continues. "You can't just do that in a public place!"

"Well then lets go somewhere a little more private." I huff and walk outside. I hear her apologize to the staff before walking out as well. Katherine joins me and we walk to Ian and Jenna who keep wandering off.

"Hey, we aren't done." I tell Ian.

"Yeah, well I am. In case you haven't realized, we're trying to not be noticed. But you're ruining that so leave before you regret it."

"Just give us Jenna and we'll go." I tell him but he rolls his eyes.

"I think she'd rather be with me."

I laugh at his statement and look over to Jenna. "Come on, Jenna. You've been quiet this whole time, what's going on?"

"I'm not going with her." She looks at Katherine. "At least with Ian I know I'm safe."

"Safe?" Katherine finally speaks up. "Do you know him at all? What are you thinking? Do you forget what he's done to you? To all of us?"

"Oh my god! Congratulations on making everything about you!" Jenna flies her arms up in the air, laughing at Katherine. "I just escaped from a burning asylum, that I caused by the way, so what I'm thinking is that Ian has been able to escape situations like this before."

"You'll be safer with us!" Katherine continues trying to persuade her. "With Ian, if someone finds him they find you too. Come on, Jenna. Please."

Jenna walks up to Katherine and to my surprise, slaps her across the face. "Don't underestimate me, bitch."

Katherine's POV

My face stings as her hand leaves my cheek. I bend down in pain, rubbing over my face just as David runs over to me. I notice Ian's face brighten while watching Jenna and they walk away from me. I don't bother chasing after Jenna this time.

"Kath, talk to me. Are you okay?" David asks me while driving back to campus. I stay silent. I waited all night in this freezing weather just to get slapped by my old best friend. Nothing was accomplished but that, and knowing that her and Ian are together in one way or another. I stay quiet for the rest of the ride and the second we get back, I wrap blankets around me before falling asleep.

When I wake up, it's almost evening. I turn my head to look across the room but David isn't here. After checking my phone, I open the message telling me that he went out to pick up some food and to get a few more things from his room. Sometimes I feel bad that he always stays here with me. However much I like it, I still feel as if I'm a temporary pleasure for him and he's still caught up in me for whatever reason. I'm not sure why he's still with me, but I hope he never leaves me. I don't want to be temporary in his life, but I also don't want to be the thing that stops him from achieving what he really wants in life.
