Dally sat there thinking what he should ask, and I had to admit I was a little worried what embarrassing thing he was going to say.

"I can't think of anything good so let's just do an easy one," Dally turned to my friends and I. "Never have I ever had sex."

"That's a given one" I said, because I was just waiting for someone to ask that one.

Dallas looked around and Steve took a drink immediately. Two bit and Darry did too, and I was little thrown off by Darry. Did he even look at girls? It seemed to me he only cares about work and making sure pony doesn't do anything stupid.

But it wasn't much of a surprise when Johnny and Ponyboy didn't drink anything because they were the little innocent ones. Everyone was grinning at each other, and my friends stood there not moving. We were all virgins.

Soda pop nervously took the drink because he saw I wasn't. I looked down avoiding eye contact with him and played with my ponytail.

"Looks like we have a bunch of innocent little girls in here," Two-bit laughed while Sodapop grabbed my hand.

"I'm sorry if you got embarrassed. I know you're not ready." Soda barely whispered that I had to think over what he said. If I'm being honest, it didn't really matter to me what our friends thought. But I was tired of our relationship being the entire gang's business as if I was dating the all of them. At first, I think they were just being overprotective after all the Sandy drama his friends didn't want him dating another one of those. By now I had figured out that since Soda was the only taken one they all decided to care because they didn't have girls of there own. Johnny and Pony never embarrassed me though. Usually, it was Dallas always being a dick or Steve and Two-bit making dirty jokes or remarks.

Since everyone was looking at us, I decided to change the topic. I did all in my power to try and play it off cool, but I knew that I had a look of embarrassment that showed on my face in a hot red.

"Who's going next?"I asked hoping my friends would cut in.

"Can we stop the game, I already drank too much for one day. " Soda chimed in, which was understandable. But I think Soda didn't mind drinking anymore, considering from what I heard from his pals.

"Yeah I don't want to know you guys that well," I rolled my eyes realizing that this game was just exposing me. Plus my friend's parents would never let them see me again if they came home and saw how many drinks my friends took if this game was never-ending.

"So Valerie," Steve said as he passed around a bag of chips. "I didn't know you were such a devoted Christian," Everyone let out a bunch of laughs while I stood not getting it. My friends gave me pity smiles. Then I realized what they were poking fun at.

"They probably haven't even made out yet," Dallas teased and nudged Johnny. Johnny stared at me with his eyes wide, and it seemed to me he didn't really care.

"Oh Dally, why you gotta be like that. You don't know." Johnny answers back to Dally quietly. I gave him props for standing up for me. If I was being honest, as much as I been around Johnny I only have heard him speak a few times.

"Shut up Johnny," Dally answered back not very amused. Johnny and Dally's relationship was hard to explain. Dally was pretty protective of Johnny but still wasn't very nice to him. But who was Dally nice too anyways?

"Don't look at me, I ignore them when there in our room," Pony tried to get in on the conversation.

"Let me guess, they sit and give each other high fives!" Two-bit pointed at me and Soda.

"Cut it out already, maybe this is the reason you guys don't have a girl," Darry came to my defense.

"Can you guys quit it already? So nosy I swear, " Martha stood up for me. She was very assertive and could make people listen. No such luck this time.

"Kiss each other to prove that you guys don't shake hands for fun," Dallas insisted while the rest of the gang snickered. Instantly I could feel flustered and overcome with embarrassment.

"She doesn't have to prove anything to you guys," Brooklyn snapped. Let me say I was lucky to have my friends. I'm surprised they aren't mad at me for abandoning them in the last few months when I was busy with Soda. They didn't need to defend me though because if they wanted a show they would get it.

Nobody was looking towards me when I crashed my lips onto Soda. He tensed up because it was unexpected but kissed me back very fast before backing away. Slowly I turned back towards my friends and they all seemed pleased and shocked with themselves.

"Oh, who cares," Dally rolled his eyes. Everyone except him. "A kiss is nothing," He huffed while doing the unthinkable and leaned onto Brooklyn and tried to kiss her until she pushed him off in disgust. She turned to me as if it was my fault.

"I didn't come here with you to be hit on by some low-life." She quickly straightened her dress and headed towards the door.

"Martha, Madeline, you too," They quickly listened to her and followed her to the door. She didn't ask for me but I was fine with it because I still hadn't done the thing I came here to do. I needed to talk to Sodapop seriously. We were never going to be able to that I suddenly realized with the whole gang here.

"Hey girls I know that was uncalled for but Dallas didn't mean no harm by that," Darry tried to calm her down and went towards the door. But my friends insisted they had to leave.

"Thanks for letting us come and stay but we really need to get home. It's late." Brooklyn lied because I knew she didn't have strict parents on curfew. But I didn't feel like putting up a fight.

"I think I'm going to go to, this party ended right after it got started. Plus my old man is expecting me tonight," Steve got up from the couch. Nobody was talking much, and there wasn't a peep out of Dallas who had just got shot down by Brooklyn. The image of him trying to kiss her couldn't leave my mind. It had to be the most uncomfortable thing I had ever seen. Brooklyn and Dally were both my friends, but it ruined the separation between my two lifestyles of Sodapop and company versus my old normal life of friends and family.

"Bye Valerie, see you whenever," There was a streak of annoyance in Martha's voice as she said that hinting she referring I hardly ever saw them these days. Even though I didn't want to I couldn't leave them alone.

"Wait for me. I'm coming too," I hopped up from the couch. Sodapop grabbed my arm and seemed upset by me leaving.

"Valerie already? Can't you stay longer at least for half an hour?" I couldn't say no to either.

"How about you give us a ride back to our houses. Then we can talk in the car once we drop everyone off." I smiled because I was pleased with my compromise. My friends had already stepped outside.

"Come on let's catch up," I pulled Soda by the hand and we raced outside. "Bye everyone!" I managed to say before leaving.
