It had been a few days since my fight with Soda. Was it really a fight? A break up? I wasn't sure.
All this time, I was staying in the house. My parents had lifted my ban, so I could leave if I wanted to. But I had been so down lately, even my parents noticed.
"Valerie, maybe you should call your friends Martha, Madeline, and Brooklyn. It's been a while, and you shouldn't be inside that much when it's summer." My mom recommended. "I think it would be best if they came here and had a sleepover," Of course my mom would want them to come over, because she was still very suspicious about the whole drinking situation.
"I guess so," I said. Later I called all of them. My mom and I cleaned the rest of the day. I didn't really miss my friends, I really wanted to see Soda again. It didn't feel right for me to go see him, but I thought he would never come see me again on his own. In a way I did think that me and Soda needed a break. If he really wanted to see me, he would have came.
Dallys POV.
Soda never came out and said it, but I just knew. Valerie and him had got into fight. Or they broke up for good, but I wouldnt ask.Although I had to admit, Valerie was hot. I wasn't one for taking my friends girlfriends, but there was no denying that she wasn't trash like the rest of the greaser girls that lived here. They were the equivalent of the men, smoking and drinking. And they were cheating bitches. I don't think I would date for a while after Sylvia. But it wasn't much of a relationship anyways.
In a way I was jealous of Soda. He was my same age, both greasers. But he was able to pick up decent broads, broads that never gave me a second look. They thought of him as the sweet innocent greaser who lost his parents and me as the hood who got arrested one too many time times.
But girls like Valerie would nag me to the end of time for all my smoking and try to undermine my police record. Not going to happen.
Bucks parties had been so boring lately. They had been dry, and I was only there for the liquor. But I couldn't even turn fun even when I was drunk. Instead of spending my time at this lame party, I could find what happened to Valerie, because Soda wasn't going to.
I reached Valerie's house, and she was outside throwing out the garbage. Quietly I snuck up behind her.
"Hey girl," I said and she jumped back startled.
"Dallas? What the fuck are you doing here?" She crossed her arms unimpressed .
"I wanted to know what's up between your fight with Soda." Not actually true, but I couldn't let her know that.
"Soda told you we got into fight?" She looks around back at the house. "Look, I need to get back inside, my parents will wonder where I went." She started heading back.
"Can I sneak into your room? We could still talk," I asked.
"Dallas no, I'm having friends over," She protested.
"Good, I can meet them. Party at your place!" I joked.
"Seriously Dally, I don't think it's a good idea. My parents told me who to invite." She really didn't want me there I guess.
"How about we all go to the Curtis' instead, your friends could come too," I offered. Maybe she had hot friends and we could all get one for ourselves.
"Well, I would have to ask if they would be ok with it. I will call." She said.
"I'll be waiting here ," I said too enthusiastically.
