I woke up the next morning, with a list of chores to do. They all had to be done when my dad came back from work. He locked the door too, so I couldn't get out, and he also talked to our neighbors and asked them if they could watch to see if I left or something. I think my Dad is dumb because I could easily sneak out the window. So after I did my Chores I escaped the back windows and made my way to Sodapop's house. After a long walk,  I saw Soda and Steve outside in the front yard of his house. Soda saw me, and a huge smile came on his face. I ran up to him and jumped into his arms, and he gave me a bunch of kisses. But I needed to tell Soda about what had happened yesterday.

"Soda we need to talk," I said, Soda gave me a blank stare and Steve gave me a nod and went inside. "What's wrong, you seem upset." Soda seemed a little nervous, maybe he thought I was breaking up with him...

"Soda, it's just that I got in trouble last night, I'm not allowed out of the house for a month. I kinda escaped but I think I should be heading back before I get caught.  I can still see you, I'm just gonna have to sneak out." I said, figuring Soda would be relieved especially since he thought I was breaking up with him.

"Valerie, it just, I don't want you to get into any more trouble. I don't want your Dad to completely punish you and then we can't see each other." Soda said, looking around seeming super nervous. I was surprised, me and Soda wouldn't be able to see each other for a few weeks and Soda didn't want to risk it being able to see each other when my Dad was at work? My Dad would never know. I asked Soda again, but he shook his head again.

"Valerie, I really really like you, but I don't want to risk losing you. Also, I'm super busy working at the DX, and I need to cover for Steve for the next couple days and I'm helping Darry watch over Pony. " Soda pushed my hair back. I was a little annoyed, maybe a lot, but whatever. I really wanted to beg Soda to come over but I couldn't act like a huge baby in front of Soda. I gave Soda a goodbye hug and walked back home. It was kinda risky being alone, but at this point, I didn't really care.  I never really trusted Soda, and that was bad and it wasn't his fault. He was a great boyfriend, but I didn't trust him because I felt like he really wasn't serious about us.
