Two days after their meeting with Amanda, the girls found themselves sitting at gate 21 of O'Hare. Amanda was yet to confirm who exactly would be attending the interview, but given the press pairings Marvel had released, there was a good chance it would be Anthony Mackie and Sebastian Stan. With that in mind, both Reagan and Isabel had tweeted out to Marvel fans asking them for questions to ask the actors. Given the time constraints Amanda had given them the all clear to get some fan help.
Isabel sat in the shallow terminal seats flicking through her notebook full of questions and notes for the interview. They had decided to arrive in New York a day early to be able to set up the TwoKeys office ahead of time. It was a Friday, and the interview was to be held Saturday, so the girls would have the office to themselves. Hence the need for a speedy set up. Once their seat numbers were called the girls boarded the plane and in a few hours would land at JFK.
Upon landing, Reagan was the first to turn her phone off flight mode. Several blips told Isabel that Nicholas was anxiously waiting to hear if his girl had arrived safely. Then Reagan spoke,
"Oh Isabel! It's Amanda. She's confirming the cast members. Looks like Mr Evans is going to be joining the other two as well!"
Isabel rolled her eyes at Reagan's reaction to reading Chris's name in Amanda's text.
"You and your pretty boys." Isabel laughed. With a swift punch to the arm the girls exited the plane.
After a hair raising cab ride through manhattan the girls finally arrived at their hotel. Nothing spectacular as TwoKeys was still in its inception. But it had two single beds, a small kitchen and a private bathroom. Enough for the girls to make do.
A quick freshening up session in the bathroom and a light lunch in the hotel restaurant later, Reagan and Isabel found themselves walking distance to the office. Upon arrival they were greeted by colleagues whom they don't get to see often but were still close friends. Several of them made comments about how jealous they were that they couldn't be part of the interview the next day, but mostly they were congratulated for being given the opportunity.
Reagan wasted no time on setting up. The NY office was well equipped with photography and film equipment so that had spared her from bringing over her cameras from Chicago. Isabel also set up camp by the computer in the film studio, organising her questions and helping Reagan. Once they had done all they could without the actors actually there with them, Isabel was struck with an overwhelming anxiety. Reagan having known her for years, saw it coming.
Isabel sat in her swivel chair not saying a word, with Reagan kneeling beside her and touching her knee.
"Girl you're gonna be fine. They'll love you. And I'll be here as well. They're just people like you and me."
Isabel lifted her auburn eyes to her friend's green ones.
"Yeah really cool and attractive people." She corrected her.
"So what? So are you! Who knows, you may walk out of here tomorrow with a date. I hear Sebastian is single." She winked at Isabel knowingly.
She pouted mockingly as Reagan walked over to her back pack to fish out more equipment. Isabel caught her reflection in one of the lighting panels and began to think. It had been three years since Isabel had been with someone. Zach and her had parted ways after realising that they weren't happy anymore. Nothing serious but it still hurt. But that was a while ago. Maybe Reagan was right, she thought. She looked on at herself in the mirror. Average build with dark brown hair. Almond shaped eyes and dimples when she smiled. Isabel shrugged at her reflection. Take it or leave it, Bucky she wildly thought.
