Oh fuck oh fuck oh fuck.
Sebastian thought wildly as his friend announced that they had to leave.
Dont be a loser Stan just ask her. She seems to like you too...
He stared at the brunette opposite him as she toyed with the straw of her drink. She was so pretty he thought. Her curtains of hair falling freely to her shoulders, her sweet pink lips twisting and biting themselves when she was deep in thought, her auburn eyes so expressive and consuming. He couldn't not ask to see her again.
He took a deep breath in and tried to make his voice as casual as possible.
"Oh damn you're right Chris. Guess we should go." He watched Isabel carefully as he spoke, searching for signs that she was upset. Her eyes gave her away like he knew they would. They wilted and dimmed as he stood to leave. Do it he thought. He fumbled with his jacket and wallet so as to give the others time to head for the door, leaving just the two of them at the table.
"Hey, you know, if you're interested, there's a pretty cool gig happening tomorrow night in Manhattan. No one big just a few local bands where a few of my friends play. If you're not too busy with work maybe you'd like to come with me? Only if you're not busy." He hastily burned through the words he'd been keeping in all day. He waited, not breathing.
She smiled from ear to ear and Sebastian knew her answer before she parted her lips.
"That sounds really fun! I'd love to." And just like that, she grabbed his iPhone from it's corner of the table where it had sat all through lunch and punched in her phone number, handing it back to Sebastian to fill in the rest.
"Great! Well I'll definitely be in touch and give you more details. I better go before Chris starts thinking he's actually Captain America and giving me orders." He laughed.
As if on cue, from just beyond the doors of the cafe, both Isabel and Sebastian watched as Chris waved frantically at them to get in the waiting car. With a sigh, they both walked out.
