I'm your Friend (Part 2)

Leo had changed after that talk you both had.

He seemed more sympathetic and concerned towards you.

Which surprised you.

He seemed more careful and all that, and you asked him if he was sick multiple times.

He would just laugh and say no. But, nonetheless, he still annoyed you. You both worked day and night on the science project.

One day, Leo was being abnormally quiet. And it scared you.

"You okay, Valdez?" Leo had just slowly nodded.

You slightly frowned and said, "Hey, don't act like me. Be you and answer the question."

Leo slightly laughed at that but he ended up staying silent.

"Hey, don't go silent on me. Come on, we're..." It was painful to say it. "We're f-f-friends aren't we?"

You cringed.

Leo looked at you, a sort of sad look on his face.

"Dang, you must have Ebola or something, Valdez. Just talk already."

Leo looked at the floor and you sighed.

"Fine, don't answer. It's not like I care or anything." But you did.

Deep down, you really did care and you were really worried about him.

You got up and walked into the kitchen.

You grabbed a chocolate bar and sat back down next to Leo.

You ate the bar in silence, the only sound being the crunch of the chocolate.

After about a few minutes, you snapped.

You stood and snapped at Leo. "Enough with this bullshit!! What is wrong with you?! I'm the only one who can act like that! You know why? Because you can handle it! I can't handle you being like this because it drives me insane!!"

Leo looked at you surprised. Your tongue then slipped.

"It drives me insane because I'm in love with you!!"

You covered your mouth, your eyes as big and soft balls.

Leo was surprised as well, but on the inside, he was beyond elated.

You sat back down, your face a light shade of pink. "I-I mean, just talk to me... Or..." You sighed and looked at the floor.

"Forget it. Forget I said anything..."

Leo smiled at how flustered you were. He leaned over and kissed you on the cheek.

You looked at him as he said, "That's why I've been silent."

"What?"

"I've been thinking about how I'm in love with you, as well."

The light shade of pink turned into red.

"Y-you... What..."

Leo smiled and said, "I've had feelings for you ever since we were partnered up."

You tried very hard not to smile. He was showing off his abnormally bright smile again...

"Yeah, yeah. Me too.."

Leo sat up, excited. "Really??" You sighed and muttered, "Yes.."

Leo hugged you and said, "Aww, I love you too!" You smiled again. "I love you, too..."

Leo hugged you closer. "You actually said that..." You looked at Leo as he let go of you.

You decided that the time was then.

You leaned in and kissed Leo. He smiled in the kiss and pulled you closer.

You couldn't help but slightly smile, as well.

Leo pulled away and hugged you again. "Your finally smiling.."

You nodded and said, "Yeah, and it's because of you, you dork."

You shoved his head and he just laughed.

Leo smirked then asked, "So, when do you wanna go grocery shopping again, dear wife?"

You sighed, grinned for the first time in years, and said, "I'll get the keys."
