The New Neighbor

You looked up at the new house.

You had just moved to a new neighborhood, in New York City. You didn't want to move, but your mom and dad had gotten new jobs.

Your mom shoved your boxes into your hands and told you to pick your room.

You obviously had to pick the smallest, since the master was for your parents and there were only 2 bedrooms.

You set down your boxes and prepared for a long unpacking session.

When you finished unpacking your stuff and hanging your posters, you suddenly heard a knock at your front door.

Your parents yelled for you to answer it, so you walked through the hallways and opened the door.

You expected to see a mailman or someone homeless. But no. You opened the door to a Latino teenager, who you found attractive.

You smiled and said, "Hello."

The teenager smiled back and said, "Hi, I'm Leo. I'm your neighbor." You nodded and looked over at the house he was pointing to.

You looked back at Leo and saw that he was holding a plate of cookies.

"Aww, are those for us?"

Leo slightly blushed and brightly smiled. "Yeah, just a little welcoming present." You blushed back and grabbed the plate of cookies.

"Thanks." "No problem, y/n."

You both then stood there in silence before Leo blushed even more and muttered something you didn't hear.

"What?"

Leo looked up at you and said, "I was wondering if you would maybe wanna... hang out some time..?"

You smiled and said, "Of course." Leo smiled back and said, "Great. Here is my phone number." Leo then took out his phone and gave you his number.

You entered it into your phone and looked back at Leo.

"I'll definitely text you."

Leo nodded and you heard his parents yell for him to go back home. Leo shrugged and said, "Guess I've gotta go.."

You nodded back and looked at the floor, slightly sad that he was going to leave.

Leo then blushed and kissed you on the cheek. He then walked away and said, "Text you later!" You blushed and yelled goodbye after him.

That night, and every single night after that, you and Leo text each other.

And eventually, you both went out and got married 5 years later. And it all started when Leo brought that plate of cookies over to your house.

The plate of cookies you and Leo ate when you had your first kiss.
