FLASHBACK

I looked longingly out the school bus wondow at the beautiful snow. Like a big white blanket covering... well... everything! And it's perfect today! Its sticky enough to make snow men and forts and everything! Not icy, yet not all fluffy. Just right. And the sun was peeking out from behind the wall of clouds.

I sighed dreamily which cause Riley to turn and look at me, dropping her hushed gossip with Kendra across the isle.

"What?" She said annoyed.

"Nothing, just looking at the snow". I said. I mean, how could she not love it? Its so... pure.

"Why? Snow means cold, which means coats and dry skin & hair. And it's so hard to find boots that keep the wet out." she said nastily. Riley is my best friend in the world, but sometimes her prospective on life can be.. well... a little off. Snow is magical and wonderful.

But knowing I couldn't say anything like that to her, I snapped "Whatever".

"Geez, someone woke up on the wrong side of the bed this morning huh?"

She couldn't be more wrong though. I woke up excited this morning. About what, i don't know. But I'm just sure something will happen this today. "Nah, sorry Riley, just like the snow is all. I which we didn't have to go to school today and could just play outside".

She shruged and turned back to Kendra started whispering about the latest 'scandals'.

After a couple minutes of riding the school came into site. Sigh. Again. Although less loudly, so i don't disturb anyone. School. I'm great at math though, which is my first class. I yanked my book bag onto my shoulder and waited for Riley to get out of the seat we shared.

I stepped carefully off the bus so i don't trip. It would ruin my day if I did. Sigh. Sometimes being a girl is hard. You have to do your hair and be all pretty. Although i heard it gets harder in high school. I'm in grade 8 so that's where i'm headed next year. I walked to through the huge double doors and scurried off to my locker. Unpacking my book bag i searched for my math and french stuff, my two first classes.

After I finally located that stupid french text book, I grabbed it and made my way to the washroom. Shoving my way through the crowded halls until i found my way to the closest bathroom. I opened the door slowly and peered in. Good! No one is here!

I walked up to the mirror and scrutinized my appearance. Red wavy hair. It's pretty long, a couple inches past my shoulders, but I'm trying to grow it longer. It's not a vibrant red, but i think when i'm older i'll dye it. I have freckles across the bridge of my nose, extending a bit to my cheeks. My full lips looked nice with the gloss i put on them this morning. And last my gazed fixed on my eyes. My blue, blue eyes. Some people have described them as, ocean color, or amazing. I like to think of them as unique to me. MY blue. No one else's.

I turned around and started for the door, since the only thing i came to do was make sure i looked okay. I'm a very vain girl, I've been told. I smiled knowing I had on clothes that accentuated my curves and petite figure. Well, the small amount of curve that i have anyway. As soon as i opened the door i saw Ryan. I've been crushing on his for a while so i put on my best cute face and smiled, making sure to bring out my dimples. "Hi".
