In one of my books I kept a picture. The only one I had of River. I pulled it out and examined it. Only on days when I find myself most missing him do I take it out. Which is more and more often lately. His eyes held that glimmer of mischief that I love so much. I started to cry again. Stupid eyes always betraying me. I put the picture back reluctantly and jumped onto my bed. I crawled up into a ball and let the tears flow this time.

My mind went back to the time I took the picture...

The time I took the picture

My hand are over my mouth in attempt to hide my laughter. After a while I give up and go into full-out giggle mode. Snorting and all. River chuckles, surely at my laughing. Why am I laughing? He told a joke, a good one! Well.. okay it wasn't that funny. But just that fact that he said it was music to my ears.

I just like him so much. My whole world lights up when I'm around him. Right now I'm smiling and looking up (way up) into his extraordinarily blue eyes. Over the past couple days everything changed. River and I (don't you love the sound of that?) sat together today at lunch, break, study hall, and even in most classes. We could talk none stop about nothing at all. After school we meet by the front stairs and wait until the last possible second to part ways and take our separate buses.

I've learned so much about him. He's smart in every subject. Beating me by a mile in English class, and always surprising with his knowledge of history. He lives and travels the world with his parents and older brother Aaron. He adores reading all genres.

Oh and I've also realized some other things.

River Fluvio is sweet.

River Fluvio is caring.

River Fluvio makes me laugh.

River Fluvio is intelligent.

River Fluvio is chivalrous.

River Fluvio is the most handsome boy every to live.

River Fluvio is perfect.

I sigh, content to be lost in his eyes.

"What?" He asks amused.

I haven't said anything like this to him yet but..

"You really are gorgeous." Oh my gosh! Did I say gorgeous? Was that the right word? Too much? Not enough? I'm not sure. He looks kind of shocked.

"Wh-what?" Whoa! He stuttered! That is definitely a first!

"Oh.. uhm.. nothing.. I just.. nothing." Oh. Well. That was horrid!

"It wasn't nothing, you said I was gorgeous. Well, I think you're beautiful." he replied confidently.

Holy jumping nuts! Did he just say that? He chuckled at me, probably because my mouth was hanging open.

"River, did you really say that? Am I dreaming?"

"Yes I did.. "

"Oh.. can I.. can I.. "

"Can you what?" He asked with a bemused expression.

"TAKE A PICTURE OF YOU" I blurt out. I was GOING to say 'kiss you', but it kind of backfired and I couldn't do it.

"Oh." He sounded a little disappointed. "Well sure, why not?"

"uh-okay." I fumbled in my purse and located my camera! With shaky hands I took it out of my bag and pointed it at River.

"Smile?"

Click. Nothing happens. Oh. It's not turned on!

"Oops. Forgot to turn it on." He laughed a little and his eyes sparkled.

"Okay. 3.. 2.. 1.." Click. I checked the picture and it was perfection!

"Can I see?" River questioned.

"Yep" I say handing him the camera. He makes a face when he sees the picture, like he isn't pleased with it.

"What's wrong?"

"Well I always looks terrible in photographs." he comments.

"WHAT?!" I nearly shriek. He chuckles ( again ) and snaps a picture of me. Surprise picture! I wasn't ready!

"Hey! Lemme see it!" I whine and pout. He hand my camera back to me and the picture is ugly! Like SUPER bad.

"Eww." I complain.

"What? I think it's amazing." he shows me his flawless teeth in a sweet, innocent smile.

I smile back and we keep talking, while waiting for the bus.
