Rex, Apollo, and I all sat at the conference table together.

"So that little Terrin bitch wants to meet us?" Rex snorted. Apollo started laughing but then they both looked at my expression.

"I'm guessing that he'll have some sort of backup." I paused. "And he'll most likely send us an address."

"So, we'll have to wait until Terrin sends us a letter?" Apollo tapped his fingers on the glass table.

I nodded.

"Whelp, I have to go find Indigo and have her get her barcode."

"She already took her test?" Apollo asked.

Rex nodded. "She's a Peasant." He turned to me. "How's Ryn coming along?"

I sighed. "She's having trouble. . . Sleeping. I guess you could say she's scarred."

"Well, of course she's scarred! Didn't she drop that bowl on her foot?" Rex then stood.

I groaned in annoyance. "Mentally."

"Oh." Rex started walking out the door. "Bye!"

I got up too, leaving Apollo alone.

Ryn was pissed at me. I could feel it as soon as I walked into my room. As soon as she saw me, she got up and walked out of the room. She was planning to go to the dining hall.

Why not follow her anyway? She hasn't even been to the dining hall yet. I was wondering who she sat with.

I entered the big, open grey doors where everyone seemed to be.

I sat down at my usual table that I would sit at with Rex, Apollo, and Ax before Ryn arrived.

"Hey! Isaac's back!" Ax exclaimed loudly.

I plopped down in my seat, an angry look on my face.

"Uh-oh, I think Reyes is a little grumpy today." Rex mocked. "Miss your morning nap?" I mumbled some coarse words and Apollo snorted.

Our food was brought out to us by the volunteer chefs a few moments later. I couldn't eat a thing. I was still worried about Ryn. I kept subconsciously glancing behind my shoulder at where she sat with Indigo, Nyx, Maritsa, and Gemma.

She looked so happy.

Maybe she was better without me. I probably wasn't good enough for her anyway.

So you do like her. A voice in my head asked.

Uh. . .

Yeah, Maritsa was right! You were jealous!

I looked up from my food, noticing my friends had just made a joke that I'd missed.

I didn't care. I looked back once more at Ryn, only to see her get up from her table and leave the hall. I quickly stood up, almost knocking over the table.

"Woah!" Ax looked up at me with a surprised look on his face. "Why are you in such a rush all of a sudden?"

I ignored him, and sprinted out of the hall. I saw her quick walk towards the elevators and decided to give up, knowing where she was headed.

I turned on my heel and retreated to my room to get some work done.
