The sun was finally rising and Rex thought it was a good idea to steal a car but Gemma preferred to hail a cab. They both looked at me for my opinion but I just pointed to the ground. "Why not just take the Tube?"

They both groaned.

"What?" I asked, raising my hands in defense.

"No, it's a good idea. Why didn't I think of that?" Gemma said.

Rex rolled his eyes, clearly annoyed.

We were waiting for the train to come. Gemma and Rex were standing with their arms crossed, not talking, and I was looking at the huge smartscreen that was hung up on the wall.

TRAIN 5: next destination: Kingston Ave. at 7:00am

TRAIN 8: next destination: Charlestown station at 6:30am

TRAIN 3: next destination: Remington St. at 6:15am

I grabbed Rex's sleeve and pointed at TRAIN 3. He looked at the screen, then looked up at a digital clock above the stairwell.

His eyes widened and he grabbed both me and Gemma and we sprinted toward train 3.

We were probably late. That's why he was panicking. But I barely got a glimpse of the clock. It was only 00:10?

When we got into the empty train and sat down, I looked at him. "Why are you so worried about being late?"

"It's not about being late."

That was when a thundering boom shook the station and I new what he meant. "That clock was a bomb."

"Another attack? Only a day after!" Gemma grabbed at her seat as hundreds of people screamed. They were all probably waiting for the same train. TRAIN 5 that was supposed to go to Kingston Ave. That's were the renaissance festival will be held.

Rex seemed to be dazed out. "The King's League will do anything to make sure everyone is afraid of the King."

The train zoomed through the tunnels at full speed and I almost fell onto the floor.

"Why are we going? Shouldn't we be evacuating?" No one answered me.

They were looking past my head to the right. I turned to see what they were looking at.

Rex stood up, despite the speed of the train. "Good morning, Terrin."

"Rex." He looked at Gemma and I. "Ladies." He bowed.

Gemma and I apparently both had the same idea because she stuck her tongue out at him and used her fingers for a certain gesture, and I did the same.

All Terrin did was laugh. That's when I realized he must be our age. In the night, when I met him, he sounded older and I couldn't see his face, but now, I see how young this boy really was. I am almost fifteen and he looked a little older than Rex, so maybe nineteen or twenty. I shook my head and noticed a few of his men appeared behind him with swords.

Why not guns? I'll never understand. Maybe it was because guns had reduced in manufacturing since 2047 or something dumb like that.

Gemma and I stood up with Rex. We could have been standing in front of a mirror. Three people. Three people. No guns. No guns. Angry faces. Angry faces.

It was Terrin who lunged first. He brought his sword up to Rex's neck, but Rex blocked with his spear. I ran at one of Terrin's goons and kicked him in the stomach. Gemma took on the other one.

The man I had kicked fell into some seats behind him and slid across the train. The train seemed to go faster by the minute. I hung on to the pole and so did Gemma. I saw her jump off of the seat, grab onto the pole for momentum and swing around to kick the guy square in the face.

The man was sent rocketing down the train.

I turned to Rex. Terrin was pinning him on the ground, about to cut his throat with his sword. I knew what I had to do. But I didn't do it.

My first thought was to shove him off Rex, but no. I actually threw my freaking shoe at his head. And he actually got up and ran at me.

Okay then.

He grabbed me by the jacket and threw me up against the wall. Considering my unfortunate height, my feet were lifted off the ground.

"Hi there, Princess." He smiled. I stuck my tongue out at him. We were so close I almost licked his nose. Rex was somewhere on the ground and Gemma was probably dealing with the other man.

He laughed at me. "Why do you join them, when you could become a part of the King's League? You could be very useful to us."

Join them? What does he mean by "join them"?

I decided to act like I knew what he meant.

"I don't want to join you stupid group of terrorists. I don't want to become your little maid. And I don't think you'd want me there unless you'd like to get murdered in your sleep." I spat.

He smiled wider which made my stomach churn. "Oh, Princess, I could kill you while I'm sleeping and you'd be dead before you could say 'oops'."

I shoved him off of me with my hands. He recoiled and snarled like a dog.

I slid down next Rex, grabbed one of his daggers, and threw it at Terrin's shoulder.

He didn't seemed affected by that at all. He ran at me and literally picked me up like a little kid. Ugh. Sometimes I hated being so short.

He held his arms around my waist. I squirmed and kicked but nothing worked. Gemma was still fighting the goons, and Rex was getting up off of the floor.

Terrin pulled a small box out of his pocket and started pressing one of the buttons. It was a chip with buttons.

Rex had gotten up and was finally registering what had happened.

He saw me and he bolted toward us. Terrin was too busy with his little box to notice. Terrin let go of me as soon a s Rex had barreled into him and they went flying. I fell into a seat, banging my head against the glass window.

I glanced at Gemma who was kicking some ass, and then at Rex. They were in a full on fist fight at this point. Terrin kicked Rex off of him and Gemma and I grabbed his arms to hold him back. Rex's lip was bleeding and his forehead. Terrin looked almost the same. Rex tried to run back at Terrin but I held a hand against his chest and looked at him, darting my eyes.

That was when, Terrin's goons disappeared and suddenly the roof caved in. Well, it was pushed in, and a hand came down to grab Terrin's outstretched arm and pull him upward.

Soon enough Terrin was gone.
