It's a fine line between Saturday night and Sunday morning. - Jimmy Buffett
2 WEEKS LATER...
Imani...
Imani and Morgan❤️
I jogged down the steps, zipping my boot heel up once I hit the marble floor. My best friend Morgan hit me up about going out for drinks. It's the first night of our summer break since we took the final. I've been in my books for the last two weeks, but tonight I need some me time. I haven't been out in a while.
"Uno bitch!" Ramel yells.
"Mel you yell bitch one more time and Ima whoop ya ass!" My dad calls from the kitchen. I burst into laughter.
"My bad folk." Ramel chuckles. My dad shakes his head, warming up dinner my mom made for him before she left for Barcelona with Aunt Piper this morning. The rest of us had to fend for ourselves, but we grown. We also don't all eat the same things.
"Aha! My nephew by marriage shut that ass up quick." Zeus teases. We all laugh. Even though Zeus is 22, he's our uncle because of Pop Pop and Sidney. He can some times be a nuisance with the teasing of that though. Like we have to tell him, aight you we get it or you need to chill.
"Hey daddy." I greet, taking a slab of lamb off his plate while his back is turned. He catches me red handed, shaking his head in laughter. I laugh too eating it.
"Always stealing my food. I blame your mother's blood." He chuckles.
"Sorry. But you know they didn't call her Bandit for nothing." I shrug, forking some rice in my mouth. He nods, taking his plate away screw face.
"That doesn't mean y'all follow her footsteps." I laugh as he does as well eating his food.
"You going out with Morgan?" He questions. I nod, taking my ringing phone out my clutch.
"Yep. That's her now actually." I slide the icon to the right, putting the phone on speaker.
"I'm outside mamas." Morgan coos over the phone. I laugh, shaking my head as I hopped down off the stool.
"Aight. Here I come." I grab my clutch, giving my dad a quick peck on the cheek and jog towards the door.
"Becareful!" He yells behind me.
"I will! I love you!"
"We love you too!" Everybody says back. I laugh shaking my head. My family man, you gotta love them.
"Love y'all too!" I chuckle, closing the door. I see India pull up in the driveway, parking. She just got off of work so I know shes tired.
"Hey bookie." I coo in a pout. She rolls her eyes with a wave.
