A Few Days Later...
Imani...
I pace the hall in front of my parents room, shaken out of my mind. I never told them what happen to me at 19, honestly because I know how my parents will react. Especially my father, but I need to know how to put this shit in words. If I just come on out and say it, Ima have to explain and... this is just too much.
Ever since Uncle Connor and Uncle Cornelis revealed our enemy, it's been a lot on my mind. I haven't slept, I haven't eaten, my focus was off in class today and that was my most important lecture. I can't keep this hidden anymore.
I exhale deeply, knocking on the door hearing my mother tell me to enter. I twist the knob, entering the room and having a seat at at the foot of the bed facing them. They both sit up to attention, I could feel the tears and that night happening all over again in my head.
"What's wrong?" My mom questions. I sigh heavily, playing with the ends of my hair that I straightened this morning. I could feel the lump in my throat, closing my eyes with furrowed eyebrows.
"Do you remember that night, when I turned 19 and I went out with this guys that I never brought around?" I question.
"Yea. We asked you how you're date went and you totally ignored us." My mom chuckles. I open my eyes to see my father unamused. I knew he was waiting for the real reason if why I'm bringing this up.
"There's a reason for that." I mumble, looking down in my lap.
"What was the reason?" My dad questions with squinted eyes. I gulp nervously, furrowing my brows as I play with my fingers.
"That night, changed my life completely. Everything was going good, the nice dinner, the small talk and the intellect was really sending good vibes. Then we went back to his house. It started with conversation, wine and some music. We both got a little tipsy and the stripping of clothing started. He took me upstairs, and it started off slow and easy. But then I realized he wasn't the right guy to do this. I told him to stop, but he wouldn't. My whole body gained pained, I began to bleed and he wouldn't stop. He wouldn't stop, and the fact that I just laid there and took it. I didn't even try to fight back." I wipe the tears, sniffing as I chewed on my bottom lip nervously. I couldn't even look at my parents in their faces right about now.
"It was Octavius that did it." I sniff. I felt the bed dip in and out, looking up to see my father grab his hoodie and gun out the drawer.
"Bricks-"
"I don't wanna hear it Zee! This is the shit I be talking about, all this secret shit not telling nobody nothing! This is our daughter b! Fuck all that sit back and wait shit! He bout to get this ass whoopin' now!" My father exclaims.
"But, you don't even know where he lives!"
"Imani does!" My father argues. My mom sighs in defeat, shaking her head.
"Why do you have to solve everything with violence?" She mumbles.
"How the fuck can shit not be solved without violence in this fucking family! Violence is the gotdamn answer and what I'm bout to serve to this nigga is his fucking life! He raped our daughter Zee! Think how you fucking felt, when that shit almost happened you! You was fucking terrified, couldn't sleep and had nightmares b! Almost lost the kids because you was so terrified! So don't sit here and...nah." He laughs shaking his head as he put on Timb's. When ever my father laughs while he's angry. That's your cue to shut the fuck up. Don't even think about saying anything.
