All discarded lovers should be given a second chance, but with somebody else. - Mae West, Wit & Wisdom of Mae West

Imer...
I lurk behind my sunglasses, staring at Niara as she sat at the edge of the pool, talking to her friends. We haven't talked since that day I met her at her job on lunch break. She ignored my text and calls which confused me. I thought everything was cool. I talked to my mom about the situation and of course she told me to go for it.
I don't know why she's acting wired to towards me. I haven't done anything to make her not like me, have I? I mean we talk about any and everything with no problem. We laugh, make jokes and even talk over out our differences. I don't know what's the problem. Maybe I should talk to her.
"Hey Imer!" I hear someone call in a teasing tone. I turn to see that kid annoying kid Jake. Before I could blow my whistle, the little nigga threw the beach ball right at my face in laughter. My sun glasses fall right into the pool of people, the boy laughing so hard in amusement like it was funniest thing he's ever seen. I sigh heavily, hearing my manager blow his whistle and tell the kid he's banned from the pool. He came by himself today but I know what his parents look like. So if he comes back with them, I'll be sure to tell they asses.
"Gomez are you ok?" My manager questions. I nod, licking my lips.
"You need to put some ice on that. I'll get Karen to watch shift." I nod, climbing down of the watch seat. I mean I really wasn't suppose to be here today, but I needed the extra money. Next summer I'm working somewhere else I swear. It's too late to find another job right now because I only have a month left until school starts back up again. I can't wait.
I make my way to the booth, hearing a knock on the door. I turn to see its Niara. I grab a ice pack out the mini fridge, turning my attention towards her.
"Can we talk?" She sighs.
"Yea wassup." I mumble. She enters the booth, sitting up on the counter. I watched as she played with her fingers, drawing her attention to me afterward.
"We haven't talked in a week." She sighs. I nod in agreement, putting the ice pack on my head.
"I know. I called and text you but never got a response." I tell her.
"I know, I just needed time to think."
"About?" I question.
"A lot, like how this is going to work." She mumbles, putting her hair behind her ear. I furrow my eyebrows.
"What?" I question confused.
"I like you Imer. Since the first day we started talking. You're not like any other guy I met. You're not afraid to be honest or show your goofy side. Not to mention you know how to treat women. You're respectful, funny and honest. I can never find that but then you came along." She shrugs.
"It's funny, because that day you was about to kiss me I wanted you too b-" I crash my lips into hers, pulling her close. I bite her bottom for entrance, kissing her deeply as our heads move every which way. She wraps her arms around my neck and I take the ice pack off my head. I place my hands on her waist, pulling back.
I know I wanted Niara when I first saw her, but we didn't know each other. I also wanted to make sure I wasn't feeling the same vibe from her like I did with with Giana. They're nothing alike though, completely different.
"You want me for me right? Not for what I can do for you?" I question. Niara furrows her brows, looking at me suspiciously.
"Of course I want you for you. I don't care about the attention or the expensive things. All I want is you Imer, what comes with it just comes. Other than drama with other exes or female friends. I try not to get involved with that." She laughs causing me to smile. I chuckle, pecking her lips a few times.
