The Phone

An anonymous caller?

'W- what do you mean anonymous caller?' she asks, suddenly very concerned and confused.

'I'm sorry, we don't know who it was. Usually we can track the call and see who it was, or it has Caller ID. We couldn't. I have no idea what happened.' She was now terrified. What could that have been? She was speechless.

'W- who was on the phone with the person? C- could I talk to them please?'

'Yeah, I'll go get her, one sec sweetie.' Sarah says, giving her a reassuring smile and walked out.

She sits and waits, completely confused.

Who could it have been on the phone?

How could they hack into the system, or do whatever they did, and call with no Caller ID, or any type of availability to track the number?

How is that possible?

Sarah walks in, another nurse following behind her.

She has long curly brown hair tied up in a cute messy bun, a clipboard in hand, wearing pink scrubs.

'Hi, I'm Ava, I heard you wanted to speak with me?' she says.

'Hi, and yes. You were on the phone when the person called when I passed out.'

'Yes, we are still looking into that actually. It's really strange. We have no idea how they could have done anything from blocking everything. What the number is, who the person is, where they are.'

'So what exactly happened?'

'Ok, so I got a phone call, and I picked it up. The person didn't really say much, said that you were passed out and that they needed an ambulance, told where you were, and then hung up. When the ambulance got to where you were, you were the only one there. No one else was there, no trace left behind that anyone else was there before.' She was quite scared by this point.

'Nothing? H- how?'

'We don't know, we are looking into it though.'

'Ok, thank you by the way. Um, just one last question. What did the person on the phone sound like?'

'It sounded like a teenage girl about your age. As crazy as it sounds, I swear she sounded just like that girl Dani.'
