The Jump

'Dani! Please no! Please.' she begs, sobbing.

'I can't though. I just can't.' she cries, shaking her head.

'Dani, Dani please'

Dani starts climbing over the side of the bridge and sits on the edge.

'Everyone wants me dead. Nobody cares.' she says, looking out in the distance and making another slice in her arm, which you couldn't even see through the blood.

'I don't.' she says, crying.

'I'm so sorry. Tell them I'm sorry. I'm sorry I couldn't be the daughter they wanted. I couldn't be the happy, normal girl. I'm a screwup and I know that. Tell them I love them. But I can't stay.'

She stands up.

'Dani! Dani no! Dani!'

'I'm sorry.'

'Dani! Dani NO!!' she screams, but it's too late.

That was the last time she'd ever see Dani, the last time she would hear her voice.

'NO!!! NO NO NO!' she screams.

She falls to the ground and sobs harder than ever.

She leans over the edge and cries. Cries harder than she ever has.

She looks at the ground.

Dani's phone.

The screen lights up with the name 'Mom'

She slowly picks it up and answers it.

'Dani?' her voice sounds hopeful.

She sobs more at the sound of her name.

'H- hi Aunt Elizabeth.'

'Hi, did you find Dani, since you are on her phone?'

'D- Dani, sh- she- ' the words just couldn't come out.

'She what?' she sounds so worried.

'Th- the b- bridge.' she sobs.

'I'm coming down there right now.'

She hangs up the phone and sits down, sobbing as hard as she can.

A car pulls up and out steps her Aunt, running over.

'Are you ok? What happened?' she says, kneeling down and hugging her niece.

'Where's Dani?' she asks, a concerned look in her eyes.

The only thing she could do is point to the water.

'She didn't.' she says, nervous and worried.

She nods.

'No! No!' she starts sobbing.

She runs over to the edge, and looks over.

'Dani! No!' her aunt sobs.

'My baby!' she yells.

Her mom's car pulls up, and the struggle repeated on telling her what happened.

Dani was gone.
