Matt POV

I was nervous yet partially excited for my date with Angela tonight, I had Bonnie come over and help my decide what to wear, she ended up deciding on a pair of jeans, with a tight white t-shirt, and a plaid shirt to wear over it - un-buttoned. I was unsure but Bonnie reassured me that I would look classy and presentable with this outfit, so I made sure to take a shower before changing into the clothes. I made sure I shaved and smelled good by using my favorite Axe body wash and shampoo.

Just as I grabbing my keys I turned and saw Rebecca behind me before all I saw was darkness. Groggy and sore I woke up and found myself tied to a chair, my head felt like it weighed a thousand pounds as it lolled around as I tried to find my surroundings. I looked up and found Rebecca sitting on the couch in front of me sipping what looked like blood out of a wine glass.

“Ah, you’re finally awake. Just in time for your date, I wonder how she’ll take it when you don’t show up” Rebecca said standing up to hiss that last part to me, anger and jealousy shown deep within her eyes.

“Why are you doing this? Why can’t you let me go, I don’t feel the same way for you as you do for me?!” I yelled at her struggling when I realized I was already late for my date with Angela.

“Because, I had you first! You were supposed to want to date me, not her! Why, because she’s human, normal?!” Rebecca yelled out, throwing her glass of blood into the fire.

“No, because I like her, you…your just another girl who loves the attention. You only want me because I rejected you unlike most of the boys at school or in town. Heck through out history even considering how old you really are!” I said and immediately regretted, I knew age is a touchy subject for girls.

“Does it matter, I look seventeen! I will always look seventeen! But tell me, why her?! What is it about that girl?” she said her voice ranging from all out yelling to nothing but a whisper in the end.

“She’s different, she is someone I could protect, someone I want to protect. When she smiles, I can’t help but want to keep making her smile, because when she does it makes me forget about everything. About how my friends and I are entangled in this web of supernatural beings, how my sister was turned then killed by someone I should supposedly trust, how my mom despite losing a child will never change! Being with her makes me forget all that pain, all those memories. And I’m sorry, but I don’t like you Rebecca, why can’t you respect that, why do you have to do this?! Why me?!” I said panicking, I’m already an half an hour late to my date and she’ll never forgive me.

“I’m sorry but I can’t watch you be with someone else when I feel this way for you” Rebecca said standing up to leave the room. I try calling her back in so she could let me go, but she continues to ignore me and never comes back.

Having a good view of the clock was a curse, knowing that I would not be able to meet with Angela, that I was already an hour late for our date. She probably thinks I stood her up. I turned my head to the door when it opens up again, hoping its either Rebecca or Elijah, I lose hope when its Klaus that enters the room.

“Well, well, well…what do we have here?” Klaus says as he steps forward and crouches in front of me so he can see my face.

“Your sister, tied me up and won’t let me loose. I’m already an hour late for my date. Let me go!” I said struggling again.

“Well, you see I would. But I would rather not have my sisters wrath come down on me when she discovers I was the one to let her little pet loose so he could go on his date” Klaus said a smirk on his face before grabbing his notepad and some wine before leaving the room entirely.
