Erin's POV

V-"MOVE IN!! GO GO GO GO!"
We run up the stairs of the porch, and Kevin turns around and kicks the door in. He goes in with Ruzek hot on his tail, then me with Antonio right behind me and Voight is bringing up the rear. Adam and Kevin peel off to the left and I creep to the right, with my gun raised and the search begins.

Its a living room that we have to clear, and there's not many places for someone to hide. There's an arm sofa, an oversized sitting chair, and a coffee table. I hear someone yell,' STAIRS' from the other side of the house and make a mental note of it. Then I go back to the task at hand.

No closets are in the room, and there's a doorway on the wall directly across from where I'm standing. There's no curtains on the big window that looks out the front of the house, so there's no chance of someone hiding there. Still, I check, and by the time I find it empty Antonio has the rest of the room cleared.

We creep towards the other doorway, which leads into a kitchen, and see that the kitchen has a doorway on the other side that leads into the room that Ruzek and Attwater and Voight cleared. They already finished with theirs and are almost done with the kitchen. Antonio and I help finish, and we find that empty, too. There's nothing else in the kitchen to clear, so we all head back to the stairs and get ready to go up. We are lined up in the same order we first entered the house in, and we start going up. But as soon as Ruzek places a foot on the stairs two things happen at once. 1) a fire alarm starts screaming and 2) several people start yelling for help.

We look at Voight for orders to continue and he responds by rushing forwards to lead the way up.

V-"Halstead! Olinsky! Report! "

O-"I still have a visual on two of the offenders and the hostages in the bathroom. Still don't have a shot."

H-"I still have a visual on the hostages in the bedroom, no visual on the third offender and it looks like there might be something happening that I can't see, in a hall or something."

Voight looks at us and nods up the stairs, signaling that we're going up, for real this time. He stopped halfway up the stairs when he went to lead us up so he could listen to the snipers' reports. Now we proceed to go up, the fire alarm still blaring and cries for help coming from up the stairs. We get to the top of the stairs and are all semi relived to see the sight in front of us. The good things about it is that there is only two doors in front of us and they are both open so we can see all of the known offenders and all of the hostages that we know of. The bad news is the offenders can see us and there is one in the hall standing over a gunshot victim.

In no time we are all rushing forward yelling 'CPD! PUT YOUR WEAPONS DOWN!'  The two offenders that are in the bathroom quickly push the hostages out the close and lock the door. We hear two shots and know that Olinsky got his shots. That much is made clear when he confirms this over the ear pieces. The third offender, a male, is yelling obscenities at us while wildly waving his gun. We all look around, trying to get a plan in place, but don't see one. The offender  turns and shouts for the hostages to get out of the bedroom, and intelligence is pulling them towards us and putting them behind is as fast as we can. Voight quietly says, or as quietly as he can with the fire alarm blaring and hysterical people making sobbing noises all around us, in his ear to Jay that he wants this one alive. Jay '10-4's' back.

We are still shoving people behind us and by the looks of it almost all of the hostages are out of the bedroom. They stop coming so quickly and there is just a few left. One of them is a small toddler, who trips and falls. I don't even think, I yell a quick cover me to whoever is listening and creep forward to pull the kid towards me with one hand outstretched and my other one still holding my gun towards the offender. He sees me and shouts 'I don't think so'. I dive down to cover my head, but I'm not fast enough. A bullet hits me in the right side and sends me sailing backwards. I'm sprawled out on my back in the floor, and intelligence takes that opportunity to rush forwards. The offender quickly shuts the door to the room and I hear a single shot ring out. Jay comes over the radio and says, "I put a shot in the top of the abdomen. He's down on the ground and his semi automatic is dropped my the door. Move fast. ". I can barley hear him though. It's taking all my focus to get one breath in and out, and I can feel my pulse in the back of my head from where it bounced off the floor. I mutter 'fucking bastard' and put my head down on the floor to fight my eyelids from closing. Kevin and Adam have the guy cuffed and are bringing him out now. He has a blindfold over his eyes because he was making threats and trying to attack specific people, so that's for everyone's safety. But I barley notice any of this because I'm still struggling to breathe. Dawson, who was checking on the hostages and is now doing CPR on the hostage that was most recently shot, shouts at Voight while he's doing compressions something about me. Voight runs over to me and kneels down.

V-"Talk to me kid"

I take a second to assess myself, and realize that the pain in my side has dulled to a throb, and it's easier to breathe. It still hurts like hell, but it's easier. And the pain in my head isn't as bad either. I still feel kinda faint, but now I'm pretty sure that I won't. I relay all this to Voight, and he tells me stay lying down and he'll get a paramedic.

E-"No, don't get one. Let them treat the people who need them."  I say as I sit up.

V-"Erin, a semi automatic just hit you at close range. Lay down and let a paramedic look at you."

Shit. That's Voight's ' you better not give me any shit' voice. I consider laying back down, but then I hear a toddler scream. 'Poor kid. He needs medical help before I do' I think to myself. I tell Voight no about the paramedic one more time, then I stand up to my full height, all 5 feet of it. Voight looks me in the eye and says, 'You're going to med. Now."

I'm feeling pretty rebellious now, so I stare him in the eye as well and say, 'No'. Then I turn on my heel and go to comfort the tiny toddler that's screaming.

So i decided that I didn't want anyone to get hurt too badly, so I came up with this. Sorry I haven't updated in a while, I just wasn't 'feeling this' for the longest time.
THANK YOU SO MUCH for all the positive comments and for voting!!! They mean more than you'll ever know and as long as they keep coming I'll keep writing cause they tell me that you actually want more of this. On that note, please comment and tell me how I'm doing and don't forget to vote.

P. S. I didn't proof any of this so there might be some pretty big mistakes. I'll proof within the next few days, so if you read something and it doesn't make sense check back in a few and I'll hopefully have it fixed.
