I've been home for 2 days now, but they were Saturday and Sunday so we didn't have to work. Which means, Jay has been home, Alex has been home, and every member of intelligence has Ben by to see that I'm still living at least twice. But that's okay, I enjoy the company, no matter how much I like to think of myself as antisocial, I know the truth is actually that I'm asocial, and I'm okay with that. I enjoy the company of my team-even when Ruzek is annoying the living shit out of me.
But, now it's Monday morning, and instead of staying in pajamas and bumming around all day, I actually have to get up, get dressed, and get to work-when the alarm clock goes off, that is.

I crack one eye open and squint it almost shut again in an attempt to make out The numbers on my bedside clock, but they're more than a little blurry from my sleepy state. I squint some more and tilt my head in a different angle in a vain attempt to finally see what the numbers say. I am able to vaguely make out the numbers 6:34. 26 more minutes I think to myself and roll back over and close my eyes once again.

I must've drifted off to sleep again because the next thing I know Jay is gently shaking my shoulder and telling me we 'have to get up, we have to get moving or we're going to be late." But this time I don't want to get up so I just rolled back over and harrumph a noise that kinda sounds like 'umph'.

"Erin," Jay says again, a little stricter this time,"seriously, if you don't get up now Hank is going to think you're still out of it from the fall you took on Friday and put you on desk duty today today."
That gets my attention real quick.
"Oh UGG fine I am getting out of bed now."
I finally throw the covers off my legs and swing my feet over at the end of the bed. The cold air suddenly hits my body and I can feel the goosebumps prickle up on my legs. I shiver and chicken – run to the bathroom in my attempt to make it into the warm shower before the rest of my body cost to what I am currently convinced to be sub arctic temperatures.

Quickly, I shower and get myself ready for the day.

By the time I am finally ready, Alex is just finishing up getting herself ready and Jay is already waiting for us at the door. A few minutes later Alex comes out and announces that she is ready to leave.

We get in the car and for some odd reason, I let Jay drive today. He takes off towards the district and for a moment I am confused as to why Alex is coming with us. Then I remembered.

The kids. There still shadowing us. As far as we know commander has not taken them off of their shadow – session yet.

So, I guess that means they get to stay until we get another case. And maybe it will finally be a case similar to the ones intelligence works every day, not like the crazy case we had on Friday.
After a quick stop to our favorite coffee shop, Jay pulls up to my usual spot at the district. We all get out and walk inside together.
When we get inside a few parents and students are already gathered there. A couple of the moms was apprehensive a To see me at work so soon after my stay in the hospital Friday night, but honestly I feel fine. I duck my head and walk a little faster because I do not want to feel him staring at me. I nod at Alex and Jay told her we'll see her later as we go up the stairs and buzz ourselves in to the bullpen.
On the way up the stairs Jay looks at me and quietly whispers "are you OK?" I nodded my head and smile "I'm buying. I feel fine, I just really really really do not like my am staring at me like I'm not."

Jay gives me a look or reassurance and nods his head and understanding. "I know you handled it fine. No let's go kick some ass."

We finally reach the top of the stair to the bullpen to see you we are the last ones there. Everyone seems to be early today, which is more than unusual for the intelligent unit. So, Jay and I had straight toward us and work on paperwork from the case on Friday.

After around 10 or 15 minutes of paperwork the commander comes upstairs followed by what sounds like a herd of elephants. I look at the clock and my computer and see that it is 930, which is the time students are supposed week and shadow asked for the day. There were no parents with them this time, Commander must shoot them away before she brought the student upstairs. Accompanying them though, was two teachers from the high school the students go to. I think I remember Alex saying something about them being criminology teachers.

"So, students. As I am sure you are already familiar this is the bullpen, where intelligence unit puts together most of the cases and does the majority of their in-house work from," commander says as she leads the students through the bullpen. The way they are all gawking at all of the detectives upstairs, it makes me feel as if we are fish in a bowl a day very large very populated aquarium.
Line just as commander is wrong in the corner to get the students towards the interrogation room one opens his office door.

"We got a case," he says before proceeding to hand everyone and intelligently middle folder with all the facts of the case in it.
Before beginning the briefing, as he usually would do at this point, boy to turn stupid Manderin gives her an expectant luck. Commander turns to the students and says, "so, I guess this is where the real education begins. Now, today you will see how her usual case intelligent words, not a high – beat Houston situation like the one you all witnessed on Friday. Remember, all world still apply. If it any point you were not able to follow these rules and anyway, shape, or form tell you who immediately be removed from this program. Am I understood?" Commander for the shuttle, while giving all of these tunes a half square. From where I am sitting, I can see a few of them squirming under her glare.
The students nod eagerly to show their understanding of the rules. I spot Alex in the crowd, and see that she is eagerly nodding too. Commander turns back to Voight and gives him a nod. Voight does it once over of commander and all the students and then all of the members of the most elite police unit in Chicago.
"Okay," he says, while leading back on his heels and shoving his ands in his front pockets. "This is what we got..."
