Chapter 15: Surprise
"You know one thing I don't miss about being pregnant? Periods," I tell Lauren as we munch on our ice-cream.
"Oh brother, tell me something I don't know."
"Umm... Sophie now has a boyfriend?!" I ask her, a unsure tone creeping into my voice.
"It's a saying, dumbass." Lauren sighs.
After the party from hell, I've been grounded until my Birthday! It's 5th of February and a day before it, so I'm super excited to leave the house. I've been out in the garden and to school of course. But it's not the same as going shopping, or going to Lauren's house. If Sam goes out, he'll always bring me something back which is really sweet.
I love my new school, it's as if I never found where I really belong, but now I have. The teachers and students don't talk about me behind my back, they accept me. Michael and Eve are the best, I don't think they'd ever measure up to Lauren though. Michael has lifted his grudge for me off his shoulders and I can finally be truly happy.
"Uh, and one thing I envy about you, is your boobs." Lauren sighs and looks down at her own chest. "They're huge!"
My mobile rings and I answer it gleefully. "Hello?" I ask into the phone. After a few short sentences I hang up and exclaim to Lauren. "They're here!"
I put my ice cream down on my bedside table and dodge through the door, running to meet them on the driveway.
I wave furiously to them as their car pulls up onto the drive. I was just so happy to see them. Lauren steps beside me and repeats the same action I did. We run to the car doors and embrace them in big hugs. I hug Sophie tightly, telling her how much I've missed her. Then I hug Danielle as well, dragging her into the house.
"Would you like to come in Mr and Mrs Foster?" I ask their parents, but they say that they have to keep the car running. I turn to the twins frowning and then remember that they're going on holiday. Sophie hands me a birthday bag and Danielle gives me a chunky card.
"We just wanted to drop these in quickly before we go to the airport," Sophie smiles.
I did wish they could stay longer, but they had a plane to catch and I didn't want to hoard them. On the contrary, It would mean that they could spend some time with their Mum now that she's finally better. The twins tell me that she can sometimes have an attack, but they don't last forever and she doesn't weep afterwards. I'm quite thankful actually because Sophie was beginning to be really quite and Danielle was becoming more and more isolated then her normal self.
Sophie and Danielle left. Lauren stayed for dinner then left. Sam came back from buying my birthday present. We went upstairs and cuddled in my bed, nothing more then that And I fell asleep wrapped in his arms.
"ASIA!" Someone screeches in my ear, tugging on my shoulder. I groan and roll over, as they whip open the curtains and begin shaking my shoulder again. I wave my arms around it the air crazily and shout something about ripping their head off if they don't leave me alone. "But your fifteen today!" They whine.
I sit up in bed, my senses awake and smiling. I throw my arms around Sam, ruffling his blonde bed head. "Thank you for waking me," I grin into his shoulder. He laughs out loud, a deep manly laugh that sends shivers though my body. He was just so... Ugh.
I clamber out of bed and run to my wardrobe to grab out my dressing gown. I'd had it years and it was getting a bit warn. It had numerous stains of food and drink that weren't able to be washed off, it used to be fluffy but it was now just flat fluff, and not very comfortable. It was more UN-comfortable. And I couldn't tie up the rope at the front because of my pregnancy bump, which made it even more disappointing.
