It was 6:30 in the morning. You were still exhausted from the flight back to London from L.A. You had just gotten home from holiday with your girlfriends, and you hadn't gone to bed until 3 hours ago. The only reason you woke up was because you felt the empty space next to you where your boyfriend, Joe, should be.

You were a little worried because he hadn't mentioned getting up early for anything. You tried to remember if he had meetings at all this week, but you couldn't remember him saying so. Also, it was still dark outside, and Joe is never up before the sun is.

Being the very anxious person that you are, you get up and go search for him.

You realized you were only wearing one of Joe's shirts, so you threw on a pair of sweats, as it was freezing in the flat.

You walked out of the room to find candles lit going up the stairway, as well as something trailing up the stairs.

Rose petals.

You were very confused, but thought that Joe must be at the end of the trail of petals. You grinned to yourself and followed the petals up the stairs.

You followed the trail of petals through the kitchen, past the bathroom, which you stopped in to check your hair. In a messy bun as usual, but it worked.

You followed the petals out into the backyard. You look up and gasp at the sight before you.

The giant tree in your backyard was decorated with strings of lights, shimmering as the sun was rising in the distance. There were polaroid pictures hanging from the strings of lights. There was a massive blanket spread out on the ground just beneath the tree, with the rose petals leading to the blanket.

You followed the petals to the blanket, and started looking at the pictures hanging around you. Each picture was a memory that you and Joe shared, each with a "caption" written underneath in Joe's handwriting.

There was one where the two of you went on your first date, captioned "The first of many amazing dates." Another one was the two of you holding the keys to your first apartment, captioned "Learning to 'adult' with the beauty."

As you passed each picture, you smiled at each of the memories. Some were funny, like when you and Joe pranked Caspar by putting makeup on him while he was sleeping, and the time you helped Joe with one of his "Dare Sugg" videos.

There were also some very sweet memories, like when Joe bought you a new video camera for your birthday to help start your Youtube channel, or when you both went to the beach for a day and spent the day laughing and enjoying the sun.

You got to the last picture, and you were shocked by the picture. It was a picture of you, but you were turned away from the camera, so you only see your back. But, in front of you is Joe's hand holding....a ring?

You read the caption, which said, "Turn around, princess."

You turned around and immediately put your hand to your mouth. There was Joe, down on one knee and holding a small black box. You hadn't even heard him come up behind you.

He took hold of your other hand, and began to speak.

"Y/N," he started, "I want to start by saying thank you. Thank you for being the best girlfriend anyone could ask for. Thank you for not only being my girlfriend, but my best friend. Thank you for helping me with my YouTube videos. Thank you for the many times you waited up for me when I came home from holidays or meetings or events. Thank you for understanding how demanding my job is, which you know since it's your job as well. Thank you for making me feel better, whether I was ill or just in a bad mood. Thank you for always putting a smile on my face. But, mostly, thank you for loving me unconditionally, and for making me feel loved."

"We have been together for about four years now. As you can see by the pictures I hung up, I had saved and treasured the many memories we had together. We may have been through some rough patches, but they are nothing compared to the amazing memories we've made. I love you so much, Y/N, and I can't wait to make many more memories with you, but hopefully as my wife. So, Y/N Y/L/N, will you make me the luckiest man in the world, and marry me?" As he asked the question, he opened the small black box to reveal the most beautiful ring you had ever seen.

You took a second to breathe, and to wipe a few tears that had fallen from your eyes. You looked into Joe's beautiful blue eyes, sparkling as the sunrise shone into them. You smiled as big as you could and replied, "Yes. A million times yes."

Joe slid the ring onto your finger, and then engulfed you in a huge hug. You were still smiling and crying as you pulled away to look at your now fiancé. He was smiling his adorable smile, and then leaned in to give you a sweet, soft kiss. Once you pulled away, you said, "I love you so much, Joe."

He replied, "I love you much more, Y/N. I can't wait to love you for the rest of our lives."

He then pulled you in for another tight hug. After letting go of you, he grabbed the basket next to the tree, which you didn't notice before. He pulled out some strawberries and blueberries, as well as a bottle of champagne.

You laughed at the thought of drinking so early in the morning, but it was such a momentous occasion, you didn't care.

You both ate your breakfast, and after eating, went inside to invite all of your friends and families to your flat to tell them all the exciting news.

You couldn't wait to spend the rest of your life with your best friend!
