Chapter 4: Beaches & Hot Guys

❤️Riley's POV❤️
I get up around 9, have a quick shower and start grabbing my stuff, today it's 30 degrees Celsius, I comb my hair back into a high ponytail. I grab my two favourite swimsuits, my most favourite one is salmon pink and black, and the straps cross over in an X above my boobs, and the bottoms are like normal bottoms they come up to my waist, and the straps are black, the other swimsuit bottoms that came with it were really small, I picked these ones because they come up a little further. The second one is blue and white with chevron on one side. I decide to just go with my favourite one, I put on some jean shorts, and my emoji tank top over top. I throw a pair of underwear and a bra in my bag, I also grab my ear buds and phone, a blanket and a towel, then some sunscreen. I grab my wallet and throw everything in my purple gym bag and go downstairs. "Have fun sweetie," Mom says, doing up Ava's coat, "You won't need that mom, it's way to hot outside," I say, "Riles why can't I come, pweeeeese," Ava says hugging my legs, "Because I'm going to surf," I say doing the hula, then pick her up and kiss her on the cheek. Then head out the door, I knock on Alec's door, "Riley!" Marie's husband, Jared yells, I've only met him once or twice, "Mr. Rinder," I say, "How are you dear? Come in," He says opening the door wider for me, "I'm good how are you?" I ask, "Doing just fine," he says, "Alec's in his room in going out back," he says closing the door, I run up the stairs, my brown ponytail swinging from side to side. Alec's door is open and I see him shoving the last couple things in his bag. "Knock, knock," I say coming in and sitting on the bed, "Hey have you seen my charger?" He asks, "No how would I know where you charger is, I don't live here," I say, "Yeah well I know you guys were in my room," he says, he shoves a towel in his bag then runs a hand through his hair, "Ready?" He asks, "Yeah," I say, "Who's driving?" I ask, "Lucky you are," he says, "What there's not enough room," I say, "Chase and Kevin are bringing the boards and either way you would, yours is the 2016 right?" He asks me, "Yeah," I say following him out of his room, "Please don't tell me you don't know your own car," Alec says, "I've had it for a year," I say, "He walks out to my cars do opens the trunk then grab one of the straps and pulls up a seat follows it, "What?" I ask, that's why there was bucket seats, I grab the other strap and pull up, "I always wondered what those are for," I say, then close the trunk, luckily for me my wrist has heals and now I can take the brace off, but it still hurts sometimes, I run inside and grab my keys then was back out to the car and get in. "Where am I going?" I ask Alec who is plugging in his phone, "They said they'll meet us at the Max," Alec says, I back out after throwing my bag in the backseat, what the hell? I see a blizzard cup, "Oh my god!" I groan, Ava I told her not to leave it in the car! "That's why it stinks," I say reaching back and grabbing the Blizzard cup, I chuck it in the garbage can as we go by. "I hate little kids," I say spraying Febreeze in the back, "Stop spraying that shit," Alec says grabbing the can, "Sorry," I say, taking it from him and sticking it in the door. I drive to the Max and park in front then grab my wallet and get out, Alec gets out too. I lock the car and walk in, we get some chips, pop, sandwiches, a whole bunch of stuff. Then Dylan, an Joe walk in the guys have a nice little chat before we grab the stuff and get in the car, Joe and Dylan grab even more food. "Have you been to the beach get?" I ask Alec when we get in, "Yeah a couple of times before, the one cafe has the best milkshakes ever!" Alec shouts, I wonder how Alec would've been there, probably with one of his sluts, I push that thought away, the other guys get in the backseat. "The wheels on the bus go round and round, round and round!" Joe shouts, "He's on a sugar rush," Dylan says, "Twinkle, twinkle, little star!" Joe shouts again, I start the ignition and turn on the radio, turning the volume up louder than Joe's awful singing. Pillow Talk by Zayn comes on and I tap the steering wheel to the beat of the song, we get to the beach and Chase and Kevin are starting to unload. I grab my bag and throw it over my shoulder and get out, Dylan grabs the bags of food, and I help with grabbing a smaller aqua blue surfboard. "Right here sounds good," Kevin says, everybody drops everything I set the board down and grab my blanket out of my bag. I lay it out on the soft white sand and stick a rock on each of the corners to prevent it from flying away. I lasted my bag out and took of my tank top, "Woah Riley! Just change in the washroom! Jesus!" Alec says covering his view of me, "Don't pretend like you don't enjoy it Alec," I say taking of my shorts, I bend down and grab the surfboard and start to jog to the waters edge, "Hello gentleman, are we going to do this or not?" I shouted back up to the guys, "Yeah yeah we're coming," Joe said racing towards the water. Chase and Kevin had obviously done this before because they went straight into the water to the big waves, Dylan followed behind them. Alec grabbed a red board and started towards me, I walked out till I was up to my waist. I reached for the far side of it and swing my leg up on it, I tried to jump on but, failed miserably instead flipping it over and landing face first in the water. When I surface I took a deep breath in, having shocked myself, I pushed a few loose strands of hair, away from my face and saw Alec laughing historically Joe laughing as well. "Oh shut up," I say flipping the board the other way, "Here," Joe said swimming over to the opposite side of the board that Alec was, "We'll steady it and you get on," Joe said, grabbing the board, I got the top half of my body on it and swung my legs over, Alec pushed my leg up, I sat up so I was sitting on the board like I was riding a horse. "Now get on your knees," Alec said, "Facing me," he said, I did, "Grab between your knees and slowly push yourself up till your standing." Alec said, I did but when I was standing I wasn't balanced and I fell backwards into the water, my back stinging from landing like a starfish luckily, Joe moved out of the way. They were laughing again, I tried this a couple more times before I was finally standing steadily, it was the waves pushing me over, "Now when the wave comes just balance your body as it goes under you," Alec said, wiping tears from his eyes, I did and it worked, I stood up straight screaming and fell again. I was so happy that I hadn't broken down yet, Joe showed me how to get on by myself, and stand up on my own. I continued practicing as Joe and Alec sat on their boards laughing at me. Finally I got it and was pretty good, but now I was tired and hungry so I decided to go in and get some food. I grabbed a Coke and took a drink, then started spreading some sunscreen on my legs, arms, chest, neck, and I tried to get it on my back but was failing again, "Here," I heard someone's voice, I saw Dylan's hand grab the sunscreen and started rubbing it in my back, I pulled my hair out of the way, he massaged it in. "Awe that feels so good, thanks," I said, he finished, "Mind doing me?" He asked, oh I see, "Sure," I said, putting some in my hand and massaging it into his back and shoulders and neck. Feeling the muscles in his back contract when he exhaled, when I finished I gave him the bottle and he stood up and laid on his towel.

We got out of the car and walked down the beach, Riley started to undress and started to yell at her to stop, actually dying to know what she wore, for some awkward weird reason. She wore a really deadly swimsuit, showing off her breast and her toned stomach when she yelled at us if we were coming we all snapped out of our daze. We looked at each other and just smiled high fiving each other probably because it was a good idea to invite her. Joe and I went and helped Riley after she made a complete fool of herself falling all over the place. When Joe and I started coming out of the water I saw Dylan massaging her back, and then they switched, Riley put a white liquid on him, probably sunscreen. I could tell Riley didn't think anything of it, just getting sunscreen on her back, but I knew Dylan was thinking about his next lay, I wouldn't let that happen I mean I only knew her for a week but I still felt protective. "Hello? Mr sleepy head are you alive?" Riley asked throwing a chip at my head, snapping me out of thought, "Yeah, yeah I'm here," I said, "Do you want some food or a drink?" I asked, "Well what kind of drink you got, "Coke and Gatorade," she said looking in the bag, "Hey boys did you his bring any real drinks?" I asked the guys, "no but I brought this," Chase said flicking his fake ID in the air, "Yeah man," I said, Kevin and Chase were best buds I could tell and I was getting along with Joe pretty well and Dylan was the floater he hung out with everybody always. "I brought mine too," Dylan said, "You guys go get us some goodies, I didn't bring mine," I said they got up and started walking to the nearest liquor store.

"You guys didn't," I said astonished, "Yeah we did," Dylan answered, right now they were leaving to go buy some booze with their fake IDs. I laid back on my blanket and ran a hand through my hair, right now I was drinking Coke and eating chips, in other words getting fat despite my perfectly toned body. I got bored and stood up, and started storming down the beach with the blue board. "What is she doing?" I heard Kevin ask, I didn't wait for a reply, I layer down on the board on my stomach and started paddling like Joe had taught me, and pushed myself farther out then just sat on the board watching the waves beneath me. I thought about how Toby and I would sit on the sand talking about everything, or we'd make out while sitting there, laughing as we looked at the shapes in the clouds, or when we'd go get ice cream, and the drives home he'd drive and I'd sleep or we'd talk. A tear splashed in the water I didn't even realize that I was silently crying. He was my first real boyfriend, he was the first one I cared about, he was a year older than me that didn't matter, I even thought for a time that I loved him. I heard the boys shouting from behind me faintly, I'd floated really far, I slowly started paddling towards them, trying to give myself for my eyes to heal from the tears. I heard the boys playing music, and I smiled, with guys there was no drama just fun. I heard them playing the song Troublemaker by Olly Mars and I smiled it instantly made me happy I got off the board and carried it in land, I had to get over Toby.

We just finished packing up and were driving home well I was driving home everyone was sleeping I had changed in the woods, the boys had a beer each or two I don't know but, I refused any my excuse driving home. It was 9 o'clock when we got home everyone got out with all their stuff I parked and hauled myself inside, when I closed the door I saw mom and dad in the living room and went to the kitchen to get some water. "Hey Riles," Mom said, "Hi mom," I said, "How was it?" She asks, "It was fun yet tiring," I say, I dump my stuff on a stool, and across the counter, "Sarah?" I asked rubbing my eyes, "Sarah!" I screamed, we started screaming like girls high pitched, "Eeeeee!" I ran over to her and hugged her, Sarah was my favourite cousin I loved her, I never got to see her often anymore. "What are you doing here?" I asked, "I came down for a visit," She said her Australian accent heavy, yes she was Australian probably why I didn't see her often, she was always with her mom working. Her mom was a landscaping photographer and was amazing at it, so she took school online and went amazing places. "Riley it's been forever," Her mom, Jenny said, "Aunty!" I screamed running over and hugging her, I felt like I was going to have a heart attack, "Riley you've grown so much," She said, "Thanks you guys look so good," I said admiring them, " Riley why don't you take Sarah upstairs to your room you guys can sleepover," Dad said, I grabbed my stuff and Sarah's arm pulling her up the stairs, I sat her on my day bed and sat down beside her. "Oh my god!" I screamed hugging her again, I was seriously so excited to see her, she was the first person to get me out of my eating disorder because of Toby. She was the first person to make me feel confident about myself, eating disorder or not, she helped me get out of my depression. "So what's new?" She asked, I heard a wolf whistle come from behind us, "Well helloooo," Alec said as we turned around looking intently at Sarah, she had blonde hair with black streaks and was tall, as well as very pretty I wished I was her. "Oh you have a new neighbour," She said looking at me, "Yeah he's garbage ignore him," I said, starting to pull the curtains back but, she stopped me, hinting she liked what she saw. "Australian too," Alec said winking at her, she blushed, "Back off Alec, a bra and maybe you can continue your flirting," I said, "What?" She asked looking at me, "This pervert stole the polka dot bra, the one that-" "Makes your boobs look amazing?!" She said finishing my sentence, "Your right he's garbage," she said winking at me, "Woah woah woah, hold up a second," Alec said, he went back into his room and jumped on his bed, "Here you go," he said throwing it across, "Don't tell me that you slept with it," I said smelling it, it smelt like man cologne and sweat, Sarah sniffed it, "His cologne is good," she said tossing her head from side to side, "Why thank you," Alec said, "And that is a yes, it's a very comfortable face rest." "Oh my god Alec!" I said, throwing it down my laundry shoot, "Alec hey," Sarah said, "Alec Rinder you are?" He asked, wow is he being a gentleman? "Sarah Cameron," she said blowing him a kiss, he pretended to catch it and replied with a flirty wink, I couldn't tell if Sarah was playing around with him, or if she actually liked him. "So how long are you staying here for?" I asked knowing the answer would upset me, probably a couple days, "Well actually, we're moving here!" Sarah shouted clapping, I jumped up screaming and clapping, I hugged her, "Oh my god! Ahhhh!" I screamed, "Riley keep it down the other kids are sleeping," Mom said, "Sorry," I said smiling wildly, she went downstairs, "Sarah! Ah!" I screamed, "Cute will you be going to school here?" Alec asked, "Yeppers," Sarah answered, I replied by giving her some more claps and landing on my bed kicking and punching the air. I could here Alec and Sarah talking, I could not calm down. "So Riley have you talk to Toby in awhile?" She asked, I started to well up, "Umm," I said walking over to the window and closing it and the curtains. "No," I said.
☠Alec's POV☠
Riley just brought a really nice looking girl named Sarah up to her room and who is moving here, yummy. Riley was freaking out and screaming when Sarah said she was moving her I laughed she looked so funny and adorable. What the fuck? I take that back, not adorable what the hell is with me? "So Sarah what's your digits?" I said, "I think that is too much information having just met you," She said with a smirk, I felt let down and that must've shown on my face, "But I like you so," she wrote down something and folded it up into a paper airplane, and tossed it across to me. I unfolded it and it read,

"So Riley have you talked to Toby?" She asked, Riley stopped beating the shit out of the air, and stood I could tell there were tears in her eyes, "Ummmm," she started walking over to the window, Sarah looked lost, "No," Riley said softly closing the window and curtains. I could now hear them talking softly but I couldn't hear what about, so I left and started playing X-box wondering who Toby was, and why she was so upset.

"No I haven't talked to him, he well he moved away after we broke up," I said, "What?" Sarah asked, "Why didn't you tell me?" She said, "I don't know I guess I felt happy that I wouldn't see him anymore," I said, tears spilling over, "Well damn rights you'd feel happy, after he-" "Don't say it please," I said, "I've been thinking about him lots actually, today we went surfing," I said, "Oh and that was?" She asked, "Well I um....it was really fun and I only broke down once in the ocean thinking about what we did, and everything," I said wiping tears from my eyes, "I don't believe only once," she said looking at me with a knowing look, "Twice once in the car but that wasn't a bad one," I said, "Oh Riley, if you were still hurting why wouldn't you just tell me?" She asked and I don't know the answer, "Well I guess it just didn't hurt as bad and I kept busy," I said, "I understand," she says standing and wiping tears from under my eyes. "Enough about my depressing life, tell me about this guy," I said, "Oh Riley he was everything a guy could be, so sweet, yet daring, and he was so adorable," she says star struck and laying back on the bed. "But you know they don't last, they can't last I'm everywhere and we tried it but, he couldn't handle not seeing me, and I couldn't handle not seeing him, so we ended it. And it was good but, I don't think I'll ever taste lips like his again," she says, "Your wrong," Alec says, from my window, "What how long were you sitting there?," I ask, "Just once she started talking about this guy, your window was open like this much," he says showing a small amount between his fingers. "And you would know this how?" Sarah asks him, "I just know girls fall for me wherever I walk, right Riles?" He asks me, "Don't call me that and they do," I say, he smiles at me, "When you grab their leg and push them backwards spraining their wrist, which reminds me," I say, he frowns and Sarah looks at me shocked, "Yeah this dickhead decided he would grab my leg and push it back until I fell on my wrist, the doctor said it was major," I say grabbing my brace, and putting it on, "If you wouldn't have kicked my ass," he says, "And if you wanted a ride I had to at least I didn't smack someone's ass," I say, Sarah looks at me, "Well I thought it was one of the guys," Alec says, "'Cause my leg is hairy like a mans," I say picking at my nails, "Yeah actually you need to shave," he says, I look at him, "Says the one who couldn't keep his eyes off me today, "You guys would make a really cute couple," Sarah says, "No, no, no," we say at the same time, "I am sorry but I can't be with someone who is with someone Di-" Alec puts his hand over my mouth, why is he in my room anyways? He gives me a look and I pull his hand away, "Anyways you need to get out," I say pushing him out, of my room, "Awe but we were having so much fun," Sarah says, and thus surprises both Alec and I, we look at Sarah and then each other, I realize that my hands are on his chest, and his are holding him in from the window. I pull my hands back and wipe them on my jean shorts, why are they sweaty? "Ok," I say, Alec winks at Sarah, and I sit back down in my desk chair, Sarah starts talking to Alec asking him what family he has. "I have 3 younger siblings, Natalie and Benjamin are twins 6 years old and Kimberly she's 3, you?" He asks, "I've got a younger brother," she says, "My dad lives in Australia my parents are split up so I don't see him often, he was a dickhead and he's too cheap to bring me back to see him, so my moms dating and he's moving here with us." Sarah says, I hate her dad so much, the scar she has on the back of her neck is from him, but I'm not going to tell Alec that nobody knows about that except for me and her mom and my parents and of course her drunk dad.

At 3:30 in the morning Alec leaves and Sarah and I get changed and get into bed, "I love you darling," Sarah says tucking some hair behind my ear, "I love you too, your sure your moving here?" I ask, "I'm 1 infinity percent truthful I'm moving here," she says, I smile, "So this is what girls do in sleepovers," Alec says, "Get the fuck out!" We scream throwing waters at him, he holds his hands up and leaves. Then we go to sleep.
