Chapter 19: One Boyfriend, Saving Me, From My Ex-Boyfriend

A soft kiss is left on My forehead waking me up, I roll over, I do not want to get out of bed. "You have to get up," Alec says pushing my shoulders, "I don't want to," I say smiling, "Come on I have a surprise for you," he says I roll back onto my back, he's leaning over top of me, "Okay," I sigh he's fully dressed and ready to go. Why is he up so early? Alec is never up this early, it's not like I want to get up I just want to get up to put makeup on, I doubt he likes what he sees after showering and doing hygienics I leave the washroom and start slapping on the makeup Sarah showed me which I like better. "No," Alec says, as I put on my concealer, "What?" I ask looking at him in the mirror above my desk, "No to all of this," he says motioning to me, I'm wearing a plain black pencil skirt with a plain black shirt, when I don't answer and continue putting on my makeup then curling my hair. "This isn't Riley, this is Riley dressing up because she has a boyfriend," Alec says, he's right I dressed up because I wanted to look good for him, "Am I not allowed to dress up for my boyfriend?" I ask, "Riley I asked you out because I like you, I like who you are, not Riley dressing up because she has a boyfriend if I'd of known this is what happens I wouldn't have asked you out," Alec says crossing his arms across his chest smugly, "You're lying you still would've asked me out anyways," I say smiling and standing, "Your right because I'm an idiot," Alec says, I laugh, "Your not an idiot, jeans?" I ask, "Ooooh yeah! Let me pick!" Alec says, he grabs the jeans he claims my butt looks best in, and I sigh taking them, and trying to pick a shirt, "This?" Alec asks, holding up a really random shirt, I shake my head no, "How about the one your wearing?" Alec asks, I look down at my white tank top with the see threw over shirt, I grab a different shirt from in my closet then head over to the bathroom close and lock it. It's a black tank top with lace and a zipper in the front, I put the light blue Aeropostale jeans Alec likes, and a pink sweatshirt, pink isn't my favourite colour but I still like it. Our weather in Lindale is pretty weird sometimes it'll be really hot in April and then it's really cold and some days it's mild, today it's a mild day. I double check my makeup before I open the door and spin for Alec he catcalls, I grab my grey bag with white lace on the bottom and, leave my bedroom door with a pair of brown heals that I bought the other day. "Morning sweetheart," mom says, "Morning mom," I say dropping my bag on the island, and poking Ava in the side she bursts into a fit of giggles. "Good morning Alec," mom says I spin around, I thought he went home, "Morning Miss D," Alec says, I shuffle around in the fridge and grab my brown paper bag and stuff it in my bag beside my other books. "Do you want breakfast Alec?" I ask, pressing my lips together smudging my light lip gloss around, "No thanks, and neither do you," he says leaning against the wall of the stairs, I look up at him then turn to look at mom who just smiles kindly, "What do you mean?" I ask, "Want a ride to school?" He asks, I look at mom and she nods pushing me towards him, I grab my bag, and swish my freshly curled hair out of my face. And follow him out of the house, "By mom I love you," I say shutting the door behind me, he wanders over to his bike me close behind him, and hands me the helmet which I snap on. And adjust my hands around his waist, as the motorbike roars to life and we fly down the road. He pulls into Tim Hortons, "I wasn't sure if I could hold your hand while your mom was there, but now I can," Alec says smiling a flashy smile I laugh, "Maybe not yet," I add, we walk inside and order breakfast and a coffee, well his is a coffee mine is a half coffee half French vanilla, which he pays for against my approval. After receiving our food we sit down at a table and munch down, "Thanks," I say, he returns it with a wink, we finish then head out of the building and back on to the bike to our way to school. We aren't the first there but not the last so we are there on time, yes. This time I didn't tell him to stop because if he was worried about his reputation he wouldn't have asked me out, I slid the helmet off of my head and run a hand threw my hair, Alec slides his arm around my shoulders as we walk in. Everyone in the parking lot is watching us, I bite my lip nervous, no wonder their staring it's you and the very popular, very hot Alec Rinder walking into school together as a couple. I say to myself, Alec walks me to my locker where Jess is texting, waiting for me, his arm falls to his side as I type in my code, "Hey," I say, "Hey," Jess says looking up from her phone, "Hey I'm just going to say hi to a couple friends," Alec says kissing my forehead, "Hey Jessica," Alec says giving a small wave then walking down the hallway. I let the feeling of his body beside mine, and the feel of his lips on my forehead, and his scent linger around me for a second, as I rest on my locker. "So how's that going?" Jess says breaking my tense, I look over at her my head still against the locker I smile widely and bite my lip. "Amazing I don't deserve that," I say standing up straighter and tucking my bag beside Sarah's purse. "You do after everything you've been threw, he seems sweet," Jess says, "He is really sweet and hot and amazing and I really like this," I say, "Which is a bad thing," I say, "Bad thing? From everything you just told me and that little trance you had how could this be a bad thing?" Jess scoffs, "Because once a player always a player in worried I'm going to get hurt if I get to attached," I say, "Stop it," Jess says punching me in the shoulder, "Ow," I say rubbing my shoulder, "that's what dating is, it's taking sacrifices and trusting each other to not cheat on the other," Jess says, exaggerating on the word trusting, she knows I have trouble with that after Toby. "Yeah I know, anyways first who are you texting so furiously? and where's Sarah?" I ask, she sends one more text, "Martin he isn't feeling good I don't think he's coming today, and Sarah I would rather not know," Jess says nodding across the hall I turn around and see Joe pushing Sarah against the lockers kissing her. "Seriously?" I ask slamming my locker with my books, I walk over Jess following behind me, I tap Joe on the shoulder, he breaks apart and turns around, "Seriously guys this early in the morning?" I laugh, Sarah blushes and I turn away, hearing Sarah and Jess behind me, "Sorry how was your day yesterday?" Sarah says when she catches up with me, Jess is observing my outfit, "It was great," I say blushing slightly, "What did you do?" Sarah says pushing for more information, "Just hung out with Alec all day," I say, "I told you you guys are cute," Sarah says, "Am not," I scoff, "I love your outfit," Jess says, "Oh thanks," I say, Sarah agrees. "I'll meet you in class I'm just going to go to the washroom really quickly," I say, I start towards the washroom, just as I'm about to go in the top of my arm is grabbed with a strong hold and I loose hold of my books, the books flying everywhere, I'm pressed against the lockers, "Jesus Alec you could be a little nicer," I say, "Oh that's right your win the Rinder boy," I hear Toby say his finger tracing my jaw. My heart rate rises my breath hitches, he's got an impossible grip on my arm so there's no way I can get out. And he's irritatingly close, I can feel his breath on my face, "W-What do you w-want?" I stutter trying to shake out of his grip, I really wish Alec was with me, I try and beg him with my mind to come and save me. "You know what I want, I want you but since you won't give me that," He says, "I want to know why you told everyone about me and Tiana," he says angrily pressing me against the lockers harder, his grip tightening on my arm painfully. "Stop it Toby your hurting me," I say, "Then just tell me!" He says, his angry breath on my face, his face contorted in all sorts of ways, suddenly he's pulled back from me, but I'm still in his grip and I get flung out into the middle of the hallway. Somebody screams, maybe it was me, someone else shouts, I look up to see Alec walking towards me, Toby standing up behind him. "Riley are you okay?" He asks reaching for my hand I take it and he helps me up, he touches my cheek, as I feel something run down my face, "Your bleeding," he says touching beside my eye, as blood flows down. I must've cut my forehead, he pulls me in for a hug, "I'm sorry," he says, "What did-" "Alec watch out!" I shout pushing back from Alec he starts to turn, and gets a swift punch across his face, making him stumble backwards, he's angry now, I can tell by the way his face contours in all sorts of way, and his hands curl into fists. I ended up on the ground probably because of these heels, I stand up racing towards the circle that has formed around the two, Toby already has a cut on his lip. His eyes make contact with mine, he smiles evilly, "Hey Riley watch how much of a pussy this guy is," he spits at me, Alec punches him in the gut making him crumple over I smile. Alec punches him again, "Stay the fuck away from her!" He screams, I step towards, knowing that if I don't stop Alec he will beat the shit out of him and he'll get suspended. I grab his shoulder, "Alec calm down its okay," I say, "No Riley it's not okay, why can't he learn the first fucking time to stay the fuck away from you?!" He shouts, "I-I don't know but-" "No Riley I'm going to do to him what he deserves," Alec says wiping my arm off his shoulder, I'm tempted to step back and let him but, know I can't I won't let him. I grab his forearm as he winds up for another punch, "Alec stop!" I shout, he looks at me, his arm still ready then his eyes look down to my fingers wrapped around his forearm and he releases, his arm falling limp to his side as he follows me away. As we start to leave the middle of the circle he smacks into my back making me fall forward stumbling towards the ground, Chase catches me in his arms. And pulls me back up steadying me, "I'm not trying to..." He stars then let's the sentence run off, then he looks past me, I turn around as Alec throws an angry punch at Toby's face, I start to run forward but am stopped by someone's hands around my waist, "I'm sorry, I didn't- let us handle him," Chase says, he's so kind, "Okay," I say nodding his hands leave my waist as he and Dylan move forward, but they can't stop Alec. "Joe!" I shout, asking people where he is, then I see him sprinting towards the circle, the first bell rings. "Joe Alec is in a fight!" I shout, "I heard in going to deal with it," he shouts sprinting past me into the crowd.

She's pressed against the lockers, he's pressed against her as she tries to wiggle her way out of his tense grip. I grab his shoulder and throw him to the floor, pissed that he dare even come near her. She is flung across the hall and I walk towards her, her forehead is bleeding, and she suddenly looks fragile, I wrap her in my arm, telling her I'm sorry. I really wish I was there with her I should've been there with her, "What did H-" "Alec watch out!" She screams pushing back from me, I turn and a punch is planted on my face making me stumble back. I'm so mad now, "Hey Riley watch how much of a pussy this guy is," Toby says looking at Riley then turning back to me, I punch him in the guy and kick him till he's lying on the ground. "Stay the fuck away from her!" I scream, her frail fingers touch my shoulder, "Alec calm down its okay," she coo's. "No Riley it's not okay, why can't he learn the first fucking time to stay the fuck away from you?!" I scream getting more pissed off by the second, "I-I don't know but-" "No Riley I'm going to do to him what he deserves," I say, wiping her arm off my shoulder, I can tell she's tempted to let me by the way she bites her lips and her eyes dance between me and Toby who is slowly standing up. I wind up getting ready so when he gets up I can knock him down again, "Alec stop!" She shouts again, grabbing my forearm, the feel of her fingers, so strong yet small, I look down at them and do something I wouldn't have done if it hadn't been for her, I'm only going to get in more trouble if I knock him out. My arm relaxes and it falls to my side and I follow her towards the edge of the circle that now has formed kids sad because they didn't get to see some intense blood flying fight. His foot on my back knocks me forward knocking Riley forward, she screams but I sigh of relief as Chase catches her, his eyes meet mine and he starts saying something to Riley. But I turn around and punch him in the jaw, throwing some more punches then he hits me good in the lip, I kick his gut, making him tumble forward giving me a perfect shot in the face, the bell rings I've already pushed Chase and Dylan off, them knowing better than to try and pull me away while I'm pissed. I punch him in the face, "Stay the fuck away from her! Do you understand me?! There is nothing you can do to fix what is already way to broken! You will never get her again! If you don't stay away from her I'll do this again! I will!" I scream not even making any sense, just as I'm about to pull back and knock him out, Hands grab both my forearms, pulling me back Kevin and Chase put their hands on my sweaty chest, Joe and Dylan holding me back. "Hey let me go!" I scream, as Toby's friends grab him from getting up and punching me out. "Boys! My office now!" Mr Boston shouts, I'm still shaking and worked up on adrenaline. The guys don't let me go until Riley's beside me and Toby's up farther, I follow her to where all of her books were thrown everywhere, I bend down and help her pick them up. I look over at her knowing she's mad, her forehead is still bleeding, "Riley your head," I say softly going to touch it, she slaps my hand away, and finishes collecting her things, "I'm fine," she says angrily, "I don't understand why your so mad, I mean after everything he did plus going to fuck your best friend, seriously I'd say I did you a favour." I say looking at her but she's looking ahead I look ahead. "No Alec you didn't do me a favour I didn't want Toby to get beaten up, okay? Can't you just accept that? Yeah I'm pissed at him and honestly I'm glad you beat him up!" She says, "So what's the problem?" I ask grabbing her shoulder, "That he would try something like that with me again, and that he got a couple shots on you," She says smiling and looking at the ground, "What did he do?" I ask her as we round the corner, "He just talked to me, ran his finger along my jaw, nothing big but I still don't feel good about it," She says resting her head on my shoulder as we walk closer to the office, I wrap my arm around her waist and sigh now what is going to happen? We break apart as we walk in to Mr Boston's office, we wait outside for a second, before Riley knocks and opens the door, where Toby is sitting waiting. There are two other chairs, I sit farthest away from Toby and Riley sits in the middle. "I've no need for the story because I've been aware by another student the whole situation," Mr Boston starts, "Was that student Tiana Clandestine?" Riley asks smoothly, "Would that make a difference?" Mr Boston asks taken back by Riley's attitude, "Yes it would," Riley said, "How so?" Mr Boston asked leaning against the table Riley leaned forward as well, "Let me put it this way if you want the truth you don't ask Tiana Clandestine if you want an over dramatic lie about me you ask Tiana Clandestine," she says sitting back in her chair, she's right. "It was so tell me your story miss Devin," Mr Boston says. "I was going to the washroom, and Toby cornered me grabbed my fire arm and pushed me against the lockers, he was talking to me but holding my arms painfully, I told him to stop he tightened his grip. Alec grabbed his shoulder threw him to the ground I went flying, and Alec came to check if I was okay. Then Toby came up behind Alec and punched him, so Alec fought back, and well I tried to stop it break it up, but the fight just continued so..." Riley said, "Alright, thank you Riley boys anything to say, "No I take full responsibility of the hits I made," I say, Riley looks at me, "I was not pushing you against the lockers Riley I was trying to help you," Toby says, "Because I needed an escort to the washroom," Riley scoffs pulling at the edges of her sleeves and taking off her sweater, there are still red marks. Mr Boston examines them, "Toby you will receive a two week community work then an extra week of after school detention. Alec even though you were trying to stick up for your friend-" "Girlfriend," I correct him, he looks at Riley and she nods, he looks between us the clears his throat, "Right anyways, since you were sticking up for her, you still fought back and brought harm to another student so you will receive a week of your choice after school detention or an in school suspension," Toby scoffs, "I'll take in school suspension," I say, he nods and turns to Riley, "And since you were victimized in this whole thing Riley, best I can give you is an exclusion of class for this morning," He says, "Works for me," Riley says, "Alright I'll have the school nurse clean you up," Mr Boston says, "That's not necessary," Riley says, "It is you look like you hit your head pretty hard, boys if you would like a check then you may if not, get cleaned up and get to class," he says dismissing us Riley and I leave first. Toby staying behind to probably persuade his suspension, "Come with me?" Riley asks handing me her stuff, "Okay," I say, following her, the nurse cleans up the blood and her cut but says there's no need for stitches to just be careful. When we're let out we walk to our next class, since there's like a minute left we stick her stuff in her locker, and pause outside our next class, "Are you okay?" Riley asks touching my eyebrow I wince, "Yeah," I say playing it off, "Does it hurt?" She says touching my lip I wince, "Nope," she says, "What about this?" She says softly pressing her lips to mine, teasing my lips with hers, "Nope," I say, grabbing her hips, and pressing our lips together, she's as tall as me in her heels. The school bell rings and she pulls back, "Mhm," she says scooting into the next class without me. After that hour and 15 minutes is over I follow her to her locker and to our usual table, "You don't have to follow me everywhere," Riley says throwing her sweater in her bag and and grabbing her bag, "You want me to," I say, "Yeah I do," she says sighing closing the locker door, I grab her zipper and pull it down, "Alec!" Riley screams punching me as she zips it back up, I laugh. She crosses her arms across her chest. "You're wearing that black and white polka dot bra aren't you?" I ask as we walk into the lunch room. "That doesn't matter," she says opening the door and walking to the table where Kevin and Chase are sat.

I was really happy when I found out that Alec didn't get anything big and that Toby would be staying away from me for awhile. At the lunch table we sat down and I ripped open my lunch bag, I knew wearing this shirt was a bad idea I knew it after Alec undid it. I pulled out my vegetables and dip, grabbed a carrot and bit the end of it, as I received a text from my mom, Alec is sitting across from me, Dylan on my left, and Jess on my right.
Mom: Just got out of the divorce meeting😐Have to go after school can you grab the kids?
Me: Of course I can😘
I put my phone in my bag and started to get involved in the conversation which was about the fight. Alec wasn't saying anything probably because if he did he would find him and punch him. I could tell he was still pretty mad and tense, "Riley what did you even do?" Joe asks, "I don't know I was just going to the washroom and he cornered me," I say, their all laughing and joking but Alec's just staring at me. I pull out my phone,
Me: Whats up?
Babe<3: Nothing
Me: Then why you staring at me??
Babe<3:Am I not allowed to look at the prettiest girl in the room?
I blushed and looked up, he smiled at me I put my phone away, the bell rang and we stood and started to leave Alec by my side, "Seriously Alec go to your locker I've got Jess and Sarah, he won't come around again," I say pushing him away from me, "Are you sure?" He asks, "Yes go with your friends," I say pushing him towards the group he wants to go with, I walk to my locker alone knowing if Alec saw me he would totally freak out it feels like we've been dating forever. As I start on my combination, someone pushes me against the lockers hard again, Tiana stands in front of me, "What's your problem, why'd you have to lie like that?" She says, "Oh I'm sorry what's my problem? I think you have a problem," I started walking forward, "Seriously why do you feel the need to constantly be around me? Talking about me? Huh? Oh wait I just figured it out, I've got the hottest boyfriend, I've got the most amazing friends, are you jealous of me?" I ask, someone shouts cat fight, she stands stunned, "Wow Tiana, stop coming around me," I say turning on my heel which doesn't work because I'm wearing heels. I fall backwards, but someone's arm slips around me catching me, "You forgot the worst klutz," Tiana says high fiving her minions, Alec pulls me up, "Oh but did I mention hottest boyfriend?" I ask, her face drops again, Alec smiles at me as we grab my stuff and walk down the halls to class.
