Chapter 24: Let's Drive

I wake up early in the morning not getting any sleep due to the fact of nightmares, this blonde girl and Alec slipping up, is basically the sum of the nightmares. I wake up sweaty and exhausted, it's 5:45 I slowly get up and turn my alarm off jumping in to the shower to have a long relaxing one, one that hopefully relieves me of the stress I feel right now. After getting dressed in a pair of leggings and a navy blue hoody with blue runners that have clouds in them. I tie my hair back in a high ponytail grab my phone and earbuds before I leave the house to go on a long walk. I decide to walk down the trail I went down when I got stabbed I haven't been there in forever. I shake out at the top of the hill and slowly start to jog down the hill and down to creek, remembering every step I chose and how I payed so much attention to the woods at the time. Not feeling worried when I saw something move, but when it moved again and I stood looked around turned around and was stabbed I remember the pain, the scream, the way the knife was left dug into my skin, and the way I dropped to the ground as Toby sprinted off. The way I called the ambulance, when it all becomes to much I drop to the ground stuff my hands in my ears in place of the earbuds and scream forcing the memory out as a pain in my gut remembers all of the touches the hand on my back steadying me so the blade could go into my body. I feel arms around me shaking me holding my shoulders and saying something. I look up to see Alec and push myself up from the ground into his arms, letting sobs escape, he sits us down on a bench and I look down at my waist letting out a breath when there isn't any blood, and I'm fine. "Babe, Riley what happened?" Alec asked when I breath became slower, "I just I remembered it I hadn't been down here in forever," I say,

"Oh babe why didn't you let me come with you?"

"Because I wanted to do it alone I thought you were sleeping,"

"I couldn't sleep listen if you don't want to go th-"

"I want to go I need to go," I reassure him, when did this bench get here so much has changed from the clear path, to the trash can and bench. "Okay then we'll get out O here," Alec says, he presses his thumb under my eye removing the tears and instead leaving a kind and gentle kiss on my lips, I swear he is capable of every kind of kiss. "Did.....did you take kissing classes or something?" I ask once my eyes open revealing him he smiles that amazing smile, and I bite my lip, "No I didn't," he says putting his hand around my waist and standing me up as we walk back up the hill to the house, "Promise me you won't go anywhere you went with him without me," he said, "Alec you know I can't promise that," I say, "How come?" He asks, "He was in my home," I say, he nods, "But I promise I'll try," I say we walk back up and since he's ready for school he watches as I apply some light makeup and sit with him on my bed till its time to go to school. He kisses me goodbye and I drive to school he's taking the bus which I made him promise to never make me do again, I hated it although self conscious it made me feel pretty good. At school I'm stuffing my things in my bag and grabbing my books for the first class when a hand comes across my ass hard making it sting. I turn around infuriated and see a figure walk behind me I spin the opposite way turning to see Alec leaning against the lockers a sly grin across his face and biting his lip. He looks so hot, "Damn is that what I get all night tonight?" Alec asks, "Keep pushing it and I'll be sitting up front," I say slamming my locker. He chuckles and follows me to class, I'm surprised when I see him holding a binder, "Since when do you carry a binder with you?" I ask Alec, he looks down at his hand, "Since I found out I still have to do final exams," he says I laugh, "Everybody gets tortured here at Lindale High," I laughed evilly he groans and the day drags on forever. Finally the final bell goes and I can't get out of class fast enough, I race to my car jump in and race home, throwing the last couple outfits in and zipping up my suitcase. I emptied the thins I would not need on the trip into my bed then reorganized stuffing my binders, textbooks, pencil case, and a free reading book as well as my novel study book. Just then remembering I did not pack my bathroom stuff, I grabbed a small bag and shoved my toothbrush, hairbrush, deodorant, makeup, and face wash. I thought of everything I had but, I was pretty sure I had everything. I smiled before I grabbed my three bags, blanket and small travel pillow. I pulled everything out of my door and down the stairs, out the door into the pouring rain, I dropped my things on the porch went back up to my room and grabbed my rain coat slipped it onto my body and raced back out where Alec was loading the car, I pulled my stuff towards him, he grabbed my suitcase an small pink makeup bag and threw it on top of everything else before slamming the door, grabbing my hand, taking the remaining things from my arms chucked them in the backseat, then pulled me into the house. From the little bit of rain I was in I was already soaked, I laughed as the front door shut, "Awe now I'm all wet," I fake pouted, Alec stood in front of me, he grabbed my small face in his hands and leant forward kissing me kindly, "I like you like that," he commented turning around and going towards the stairs, I raced after him shocked that he would say that. He closed his bedroom door, and I waited outside, "Hey if I bring my L.A will you help me?" He asked three the door, "Fine," I groaned then stormed down the stairs and waited at the island, I decided to look and see if mom was home and when I opened the door and saw that she was, I closed the door and raced across. There was a low murmur coming from behind the door and I burst the door open, "I know but, Riley is turn-" "Surprise! Did you miss me?!" I shouted opening my arms wide, mom span around and smiled wrapping me in a hug, she grabbed a small white envelope front he island and motioning Alec out, why was he in my house talking to my mom? That kind of freaked me out, Marie and Jared just got home and we walked across to the front porch to stay dry, well Alec and I did while mom and Marie talked in the pouring rain, "Alec did you pack the car?" Marie shouted up to the porch where Alec's and mine arms were wrapped around the others hips, and or heads were snuggled together as if we were loosing each other. "Yes I did," he shouted back, "Organized?" Marie asked, I snorted, "Yeah I did," Alec said Marie looked happy for a second looking at me, I was surprised mom wasn't splitting Alec and I up she's been very strict lately, "No he didn't," I shouted to Marie I could feel Alec's gaze down on mine, "I thought so," she said ushering the kids into the SUV that Jared drove, Jared was talking on the phone, "Come on you two lovebirds!" Marie said I let go of Alec and he ran up to the SUV as I said goodbye to mom. "Have fun, do your homework and use your manners," mom said, she hugged me, "I love you mom," I said, she smiled warmly, "I love you to Riley," mom said kissing me on the nose then pushing me towards the SUV, the SUV was a dark blue colour, inside there was a bench with beige leather, Alec had folded down the first seat and behind it was another bench seat where Alec was waiting patiently. there was weather proof mats that were black on the floor, in front of the first bench behind the drivers seats was two movie players, and another movie player hanging down above the first set of seats, all together it is a nice car and very neat and tidy not my type though. I sat down and buckle up and get comfortable starting on my homework, the kids get a movie started and Marie and Jared get comfortable driving off. Alec jabs me in the side, "Stop," I say slapping his hand away, "What are you doing Riles?" Alec asks dragging out the words, "Homework," I say, he groans, "Already?" He asks, "Yeah help me with this," I say working on a calculus equation, "Nope," he says, I look at him he's crossing his arms and holding his head up high, "Why not?" I sing setting my books aside, he doesn't answer and I start jabbing him in the side he wriggles and I jab him really good and he cracks breaking his act to start tickling me, I laugh and giggle and squirm. After awhile we stop because we are out of breath and tired, my feet are up on the seat and the blanket is around my legs my back against the pillow up against the window, Alec mirrors my position. I'm picking at my nails, "So your favourite colour is?" Alec asks, "I thought I already told you this," I said, "Yeah but I don't remember," Alec says, "Aqua blue," I answer, "And yours?"
