What? What? No. No. No. Where did he go? Did I get so lost in thinking that I didn't notice him leave? I walked around the barn. Nothing. I proceeded to walk back to the house when I heard a frantic shout. "Sam?! Sam?!" "Katie!!! Come here!" Where was he? Come on. We need to find him. He sounds pretty distressed. After running and panicking for a minute, I finally found him. It wasn't just him though. He was being held at gunpoint. "What do we have here?" One of 3 guys said with a nasty smirk on his face. I was in the woods at this point a ways away from the house. The footing wasn't great at all.
He pulled me up and held me by my hair. "Where do you think you're going? I wouldn't wanna try that again young lady." The other two guys had Sam on his knees. "What do you want?!" I said trying not to let out a tear and show my weakness. "Well. We saw you two on that porch swing. We figured, eh, they seem good to kill." His words made me want to scream. "I'll do anything! Anything! As long as he stays alive." "Oh really?" "Yes. Anything. Just please let him live." "Okay." He walked towards Sam with his back to me. He pulled the trigger. "No!!! Sam!!!! No. How dare you! You f****** coward!" He turned to me. Click.
"Katie! Sweetheart! Are you okay?" "Mom. Mom! It's you! Is Sam okay? Please tell me he's okay." "Woah woah. What happened? Why did you scream?" "I just had a bad dream. A real bad one. Sam and I got shot..." "Oh Katie. I'm sorry. That must have been terrible. Yes. Sam is okay. I just got off the phone with Clara. They were out at the art festival." "Phew. Thank goodness. We're going right?" "Yup. Sure are. We just have to get ready." I nodded and smiled as she walked out of my room. I'm so glad it was just a dream. I took a shower trying to forget the dream but just couldn't. Anytime I have a weird dream it tends to stay with me throughout the day.
I put on a tank top since it was going to be pretty hot but stuck with boots and jeans. "Hmm. Okay. Wanna look a little pretty since I'm going out." A little bit of makeup was put on. Only consisting of eyeliner, mascara, and lip balm that had a very light tint to it. "Okay. Looks good!" I say as I walk out of the bathroom ready to go. Art festivals have always been my favorite. There's not just paintings but any type of art. Horseshoe art has to be one of my most liked booths. "Are you ready, mom?" "Yup. Make sure to take a water for the ride over there." We were only 20 minutes away from town but it could feel long at times.
