Katie's POV
Hmm. This seems like a great place. I love it. Love love love it! I dialed the number and got an answer right away. "Hello, this is Kathy." Her voice was very nice. "Ah yes. I am Katie Anderson," I said in a quick voice. "I was interested in your house you had for sale." "Anderson! Reece's daughter?" "Yes ma'am." I said wondering how she knew my mom exactly. "Awe. I'm Kathy. I use to work with your mom at the feed store when we were young." "Ohhhh. Ren's Feed Supply?" "Yes! Back when we were in our late teens early twenty-somethings." "Awe. I miss that place." I said my voice thinking about the good times. "I'm sorry! I totally got us off track. The house! She is still for sale."Joy filled my heart. My heart pounded. It was racing. Relief. "Oh wow! Well. How much are the monthly payments?" "They would be.... Well. Hold on real quick sweetie." I stayed on the line for a quick minute before she talked again. "They were originally $850 but I would be willing to lower them to $550." "Oh my. Wow. Umm. That is a very good lot. A lot
lowered I mean. I think with our jobs we could do $650 instead if you would like." "Are you sure? I wouldn't have a problem with you paying the $550 at all." "Yes ma'am. I am sure. When would we be able to stop by and look at it? Sorry for all the questions." "Let's see. It's Wednesday. So, tomorrow 6:00?" "Yes! That would work perfectly. Thank you so much. We really appreciate it." "Sure thing! And tell your mom I said hi!" "Sure will. Buhbye!" We hung up and I got my mind all worked up. I was anxious as to when Sam would get home. I missed him so much. And this news. This news!5:45 p.m.
I heard footsteps on the porch of Sam's place. I had an extra key so I could go into there. "Hey babe!" He said with that smile of his and sparkle in his eye. "How was your day?" I asked him. "It was alright. Long." "Awe. I'm sorry. But I have some news." "Really?" He said. Putting down his uniform shirt with a tilt of the head and questioning smile. "Are you?...." I could see his face light up. "No silly. Not yet. We save that for after the wedding." "Awe man. Okay. Okay. Hmm. I don't know then..." "Well. I called about the house." "The house! Yes! The house! What did they say?" "Well. Turns out the lady, Kathy, knows my mom. She was going to charge $850 originally for payments but she lowered it all the way to $550, but...." I said lowering my head and stretching it out. "I said we could do $650. I really think $550 was real low. Plus, that just means longer time to pay." Sam was speechless. "She... She only wanted that much? Wow. That's amazing. Between both of our incomes, we could definitely do $650. Well, the utilities too, but that's not that big of a deal." "Yes. I was shocked. I think we found our house Sam..." "I think we did..." "Oh! Tomorrow! 6:00. We can go see it!" "Wow really? Hopefully is what we were hoping for. What's the address again?" "719 Bolton Road." "Okay. You know, we should go make some s'mores. I'll get the fire pit started here when it's gets darker." "And listen to the radio?" "Yes. And we'll lay down in the back of my truck watching the stars. Just like old times..."----------------------------------------------
