Chapter 23: What Now, Sam?

Katie's POV

I had gotten a not-so-well night of sleep. I was too busy thinking. I happened to be an over thinker so that didn't help the situation. What the hell did this Claudia lady want? She was like, 40 years old! Ohhhh. WOULD SAM REALLY LIKE OLDER WOMEN? MORE IMPORTANTLY, OTHER WOMEN? Woah. Woah. Calm down now. Just breathe. I got ready, with a headache. I had no music in the shower. Lets just hope this goes okay. I headed to Sam's place. No warning. Nothing. If he has something going on, I better see it. 5 minutes away from Sam I get a call. From him. SOB. I didn't answer. Just incase he had something going on... I pulled up to the guest house at his mom's place. Sam opened up the door. "Oh hey, baby. Are you okay? I tried calling you." "I need to talk to you." "I also need to talk to you." I said. "Come on. Lets take a seat..."

I sat down and was quiet for a bit. "So. You should go first." "Okay. I wanted to tell you this because I felt if I didn't, I would be lying to you. VERY BADLY." My heart started pounding. I could hear it in my ears. Was it something really serious or just a little mess up? "The other day. We were at the bar. For Montana and Tyler's party. Well... Some lady came up to me. She was all over me. I was trying to push her away but she was all up in my business. I figured I better tell you before someone saw it and said different. I'm telling the truth. No lies. All the truth. She had the worst breath. Don't even know who she was. Just so messed up." "Oh really?" I said with a lot of surprise in my voice. "Just please don't be mad babe. I didn't even know who that lady was. It was VERY gross. Trust me. And if ANY girl did that to me I would push them off and look for you." "Wow, Sam. I umm. My mom and I were at Hobby Lobby and some Claudia lady was all snobby and saying you wanted her and all this stuff. I got pissed and I came here because I just didn't know what to believe." "Katie. You don't even have to worry about that one bit. I got scared. She scared me. That lady scared me to death. I tried to get her off of me as fast as I could."

"Just hold me. Hold me." Sam held me close. I was shaking badly. "It's okay, baby. You'll be okay. We'll be okay. Trust me. I'll always be there to protect you. I would never betray you like that or in any way." We cuddled up on the couch and watched a movie. On top of that, I showed him a nice house. A small double wide. 3 bedroom 2 bathroom. Horse property. Stalls. Perfect. With my waitressing job and the tips, I think we could very much afford it. "Babe, should we tell them were interested in this house?" "We sure should. It's literally perfect." "Okay. I'll get a hold of them here in a it bit."
