Maddison waited for the cab, praying that it would arrive before Ms Angel decided to follow her. Her bike was at her place, so she needed to go there first. She still hadn't decided what she would do after she got her bike. Maybe she should give drinking a try.
The yellow cab pulled into the cemetery, pulling up next to her. 'Where too?' he asked as soon as she got in. she rattled off her apartment building address, slouching in the seat, she was tired.
The cab driver dropped her off out front her building, she handed him a twenty before getting out and walking down the Alley. She walked over to the tarp, her bike was under and pulled it off. She frowned when she saw the bike was covered in black rose petals. She scanned the alleyway to see if anyone was there. The alleyway was empty, she brushed the petals off her seat, before strapping her duffle bag to the bag of the bike. She climbed on, taking her helmet off the fuel tank, shoving it down on her head. Starting her bike, she slowly drove down the alleyway onto the street.
She rode until she saw a familiar sign, pulling off the street she parked in front of Molly's, she shut her bike off, and removed her helmet. She glanced over ta Molly's entrance to find a man with blonde hair staring at her. Slowly she lifted her leg off her bike, she turned grabbing her duffel bag off the back. She slipped the strap over her shoulder. She glanced over again at Molly's door to find the man still standing there looking at her. She made her way towards the front entrance of the bar, ignoring the guy as she walked past him and entered the bar.
It was only ten in the morning, the place would have only just opened. Maddison hoped that, that would mean that no one was there drinking yet. She spotted Stacey in the far corner of the room, wiping down tables. She sighed in relief when she couldn't see anyone else. She waved at Stacey when she looked up. 'Please tell me your bar is fully stocked.'
Stacey laughed. 'Why? You don't drink.'
'I do today.' She said sitting down on a stool at the bar.
Stacey's eyes widened when she realised that Maddison was serious. She walked over, behind the bar. Grabbing a shot glass and a bottle of tequila. She sat the glass down in front of Maddison. 'Ok Spill.' She said as she poured her a drink.
Maddison threw back the shot, couching as the liquid slid down her throat burning it, she felt her stomach warm as the liquid entered it. She coughed again. 'How do people drink this shit?'
Stacey laughed holding up the bottle. 'I take it you don't want another?'
'Screw that.' She said pushing her class closer to Stacey. 'Keep them coming.'
'Ok now you really have to tell me what's happened.' She filling the glass again.
Maddison thought about the last few days, Gabe kidnapping a ten-year-old, Tony shapeshifting into a panther. Her showing him her wings, him finding out about what she really is. Her mother, the angel wanting her help to rescue her father a demon. None of this she could tell Stacey of course. Maddison shook her head. 'You wouldn't believe me, if I told you.' She thought for a moment, no Stacey wouldn't believe the truth but maybe she could share some, leaving out the supernatural stuff.
'Oh come on.' She said.
Maddison sighed fine, I will give you the highlights,' she threw down another shot, finding it a lot easy to drink. 'I'm having guy troubles.'
'I wasn't aware that you were seeing someone.'
She shrugged. 'It was only recently we started dating. Do you know Officer Tony Ryan?'
Stacey whistled. 'Way to go girl, he's hot.' she leaned on the bar. 'Tell me what happened.'
She sighed, suddenly not sure if she was ready to talk about it. She didn't want to end up a blubbering mess. She wiped a hand down her face. 'Pour me another drink, I need liquid courage to talk about it.'
