Maddison woke with a splitting headache. It felt as though something was drilling into her brain. She didn't where she was or why she was in bed, she tried to think back to what she last remembered. She remembered Tony, coming over and talking with her about what had happened. She felt flutters in her stomach when she remembered they had made up. He was now her boyfriend. Her first boyfriend she has ever had. Then she remembered Gabe showing up, and something smashing her in the back of the head. That explained her headache. Now all she needed to figure out is why he knocked her out, and where the hell she was.

She tried to move, regretting it immediately when her headache increased, making her want to vomit. 'You're awake.' She heard Gabe say from somewhere beside her. She opened her mouth to speak, the small motion making her whimper from the pain it caused. What had he done to her? She wondered. It felt like her skull had been split in two. Whatever he had done, it must have done a lot of damage to her head. 'Don't try to speak yet.' He said. She tried to open her eyes, but her eyelids seemed to be broken. Either that or they were glued shut because they wouldn't move. She was going to kick Gabe's ass as soon as she healed. She hoped that was soon, she healed fast so it shouldn't be too long before her body started healing damage done to her head. 'You should have said yes Maddison.' She heard him. 'None of this would have happened had you only just said yes.' She mentally gave him the finger. She heard a rustling sound, and felt the bed dip down as Gabe sat on it. She felt him grab her arm, and felt a sting, then a coldness run up inside her arm. 'That should help you with the pain.' He said, she felt him stand from the bed.

Surprisingly he was right. She felt as the pain lessened from a searing pain, to a throbbing. 'Why?' She managed to croaked out. Her throat was dry, her tongue felt like sandpaper.

He sighed. 'Because you said no.' He said sounding like a broken record. 'I was under orders to take you, if you didn't agree to help.'

'I'm still not helping you.' She really wants to ask for a drink of water, she didn't trust Gabe not to drug it on her. She would have to just deal with her dry mouth along with everything else.

She heard him walking around the room. 'It doesn't matter anymore. The demon council has decided on a new plan. One that doesn't need your agreement. A plan that is going to make you wished you agreed to help when I asked you.'

She tried to swallow but her mouth was completely dry. 'What plan?' She asked him.

'Well the good news is they are not going to be using the girl for the trade.' She should have been relieved, instead she was worried what they were going to do to the girl if they weren't going to use her for the trade? She was so focus on her thought she almost missed Gabe's next words. 'Instead they are going to be handing over you, in exchange for Lucifer.'

She stopped breathing when she heard his words and they sunk in. If they handed her over to the angels, they would kill her for being what she is. She would die. She wanted to scream at Gabe, she wanted to call him every name she could think of. But didn't. Instead she asked. 'Why?' She had to fight with her body, to not allow herself to cry. If today was the day she was going to die, then so be it. It was just her luck that she, and Tony had made up. That they officially became a couple. Her first time at having a boyfriend, and she was going to die before she even got to experience life with a boyfriend.

'It's complicated.'

'Why?' She screamed. The dam broke and she started to cry, she wasn't as strong as she wanted to be.

'You need to understand that the demon world has been in utter chaos since Lucifer disappeared. If we don't get Lucifer back soon there will be a demon war. One that will leak out into this world, and a lot of humans will be killed.'
