The bath Emily was talking about worked, I know that much. I still had a dull ache when I was in the gym but it was nothing like before. So when I walked into All Creatures I wasn't complaining half the way there. When I walked in I sat next to Bianca who just looked up before looking back to her book. Mr Connin walked into the room and placed the things he brought in down. He then turned to the class. "After I looked at all your votes and counted them I wasn't surprised that most of yous picked vampires."

I frowned at what he was saying. Votes? Then it hit me. Just before yesterdays class had ended we had all voted for which subjected we wanted to learn first.

"So to start today's lesson off we are going to brainstorm," Mr Connin smiled a sly smile. People raised their hands and Mr Connin wrote on the board. Then he stopped and turned to us. "So, you know... nothing really." he states and sits easily on the desk.

The room fell into confusion. "Most of the stuff on the boards not real," someone said from the doorway. I didn't even bother looking at him. I knew who it was. He had been yelling at me all last night it felt like. Lucas walked into the room and looked at the board. "Burning in sunlight?" he shook his head and wiped the writing off. "Glittering in the sunlight? No. Are killers.... sometimes" He left the last one on the board. "Drinks blood. Yes. Temperamental? Rarely. Pale? no" Lucas wiped them off one by one, shaking his head. By the end there was only 'Blood drinkers', 'Are stronger and faster than humans' and 'Killers'.

"Wow, great work guys," he turned around to face the class. "You defiantly know your vampires."

The room was quiet and some people exchanged glances. "Does anyone know what a Vampires Essence is?" Mr Connin asked. No one moved. "What about a vampire's spirit?"

"Isn't that like a soul? Or.... a part of a person?" A guy a few tables away asks.

Mr Connin looked at Lucas then back to the guy. "Yeah..... you're getting there.... Can anyone think of what a Vampire's Essence or what a Vampire's Spirit may be?" Mr Connin looked at everyone in turn. "What if I said the word ghost. What do you think?"

"Someone who's dead." Bianca says beside me.

"And whats a that?" Mr Connin raised his eyebrow at her.

"A ghost," Bianca says with a 'duh' tone.

"I think he's saying a ghost is a spirit." I say looking at her.

Bianca rolls her eyes but then jumps when Mr Connin shouts, "Huh! Someones got it!" I turn to Mr Connin a little startled. "So whats a spirit?"

Crap, he was directing the question to me. "Ah.... something inside a person?" I shrug feeling stage fright as everyone looked at me.

"So you could say it's part of the person?" Mr Connin says looking at me.

"Yeah, i guess." I say, watching the teacher.

"So, I'll ask again, what's a Vampires Essence?" That stumped everyone again. He gave out a rugged sigh. "Essence is what makes a person. A person's spirit. So what's a vampire's essence or spirit?" he asked pacing across the front of the room slowly.

"It's what makes a vampire." Someone said behind me.

"Yeah, but Vampires don't have souls," Someone else says.

Lucas growls quietly and narrows his eyes over my shoulder, looking at the person who had talked. I was suddenly a little scared even though he wasn't looking at me. Lucas said nothing even though he was clearly unhappy about the persons accusations. "Vampires do have souls, just like they have hearts, though some may not use it like some people would like," Mr Connin was onto the person, his eyes looking calm as always. "So, if a spirits what makes a person, what is a spirit?"

"It's something inside of them," someone said sounding irritated. "We've been over this!"

"But we still don't know what makes a spirit." Mr Connin says .

"Spirits are part of a person. It has no real making beside the person themselves, unless it's a ghost in which case it would have not proper making besides it's own soul." I was shocked by my words. Where the hell had that came from? Everyone started at me looking confused.

Mr Connin nodded his head slowly. "Yes, that's correct. But vampires, when they want to, they can make their spirits visible, so it's like they are split in two," Everyone then turned to Mr Connin who was now confusing everyone. "But this is not like there is two of the vampire. Lucas, I think they need a demonstration."

Everyone turned to Lucas who just glanced at the room before looking at Mr Connin. He then looked towards the floor in front of him. I looked at the floor and around him waiting to see something but there was nothing. "He can't do it," Bianca says looking at her book. She had only picked it up when someone screamed and a chair fell over.
