I scanned the page, my eyes grazing over the words on the page. I was in Study Hall, trying to get my work done for other classes and trying to figure out why i couldn't change yet. But i was having no luck with finding any books saying why i might not be able to change. I was getting frustrated and the wolf inside me stirred whenever someone came close. Even Emily was sitting halfway across the room. I sat in the seat defeated. There was nothing.

I finally stood up trying to get my mind off why i could change. I grabbed all the books and placed them on the trolley. The Liberians will put them away later. I wondered the shelves aimlessly. My eyes flicked over the books spines. Finally something caught my eyes.

Vampire Spirits and Meanings. My fingers lingered over the hard black spine, the white words running though my head. After a little debate i picked the book up and went back to the table i was sitting on. I sat the thick book on the table not sure what i was acutely looking for. Then Lucas's fox came to my head and i opened the book. The writing was faded and in some spots was unreadable. I looked down the index and noticed to find out what i wanted about one simple animal i had to look threw a few things.

What the animal was, the color and it's eye color.

I sighed and flipped to the animal part. It was all alphabetical so it didn't take long before i found fox.

Fox Essence

Vampires with the fox as their essence are trick to understand. No animal is exactly alike though the Vampire usually resembles the animal. Fox's are known for being scavenges as well as sly and smart. These Vampires are more cunning then most and will be able to find a way out of almost anything, just as the fox in the wild. Vampires with this spirit form are offend able to stay out of peoples ways and know where to be if they don't want to be seen or found. This makes Fox sports hard to pin point.

I frowned at the book wondering if all that was true. Lucas wasn't really the type to hide or sneak around people, he seemed more as if he didn't have anything to hide. But that only made me think of more stuff. What if he was the one who killed Heath. And the Cinnamon and garlic. Maybe he was trying to keep us off his trail. He was the last person to see Heath but....what would Lucas do such a thing. Maybe Heath was getting to close. I bit my lip and thought about it properly. He didn't have a real reason to do anything. An image of Lucas's intense gaze entered my head making me shiver.

I glanced back down at the book then flipped though til i found the color section. I then paused on the page. I looked between White and Gray-White. I had remembered seeing gray in Lucas's Fox's coat. I finally decided to go with Gray-White.

Gray-White

Spirits with the Gray-White coats/furs/scales/feather are usually the less social Vampires, they will have a few close friends who they are committed to but are otherwise not trusted by people who may not be in the Vampires 'Close Friend's Group' but the Vampire more then likely has good intentions but this is not always right, depending on how dart the spirits coat is depends weather the animal is good or bad. Spirits also change coats some times, weather it's cause the Vampire changes or weather it's a disguise varies on the animal. Some Animal spirits are better at disguising themselves while others can't change their coat unless the Vampires themselves changes.

I briefly wondered if Lucas's fox could disguise it's self but brushed it away. If i kept thinking things like this my brain was going to explode. I flipped to the last section. There was so mean different color and not just the normal, Blue, Green, Hazel. I saw things like Snow-Green and Soft-Violet. I didn't know the spirits had different colors like that. I though they went by the Vampires eyes. Well, i guess i was wrong there. After much debate i decided on Ice-Blue eyes cause....well, their ice like.

Ice-Blue eyes

Vampires with Icy blue eyes are known to be 'cold' or 'heartless' but that is not always the case. Vampires with these eyes see things differently from other Vampires and mainly other creatures. Vampires with these eyes sometimes get mixed up as having Cold-Blue eyes. These two however are very different. Ice-Blue eyes always seem to be looking though a person or freeze the persons soul making them freeze. Vampires with these eyes usually have a connection to the colder weather and water, they will not feel the cold as much as others and will be more likely to be seen as strange since they may walk around wearing, as some people will say, nothing at all. These eyes are offend able to hide thing easily and the person is less likely to stress under pressure.

I reread what i i had just read and sat back just realizing i was sitting on the edge of my seat. I had found out so much but at the same time nothing. I groaned defeated and ran my hands down my face feeling stressed. Why i was feeling stressed i had no idea. I stared at the book longer then flipped back to the index. I scanned the page again. There was more things i could read but none of which interested me in an way, shape or form.

Suddenly someone closed the book and looked over my shoulder. "Vampire Spirits and Meanings" Jason says and opens the book back up and sits down beside me. "You doing a project or something?"

"Something" I say looking at the hansom werewolf. His dark hair hung over his eyes and his half smile finished off his face. "I was bored...got curious"

Jason nodded in understanding. "So what'd you find?"

"Nothing much" I felt slightly defensive suddenly. The book made a thump as i closed it, the hard cover plain cover glaring up at the ceiling. I looked back at Jason who just nodded his head and glanced around the room. Before i could stop myself i blurted out a question was wasn't sure i should ask, or was it i wasn't sure i wanted to hear the answer? "Jason, did you learn to change strait away?"

Jason looked at me and blinked. "As into a wolf. No, it took a while, i was near the end of the lesson" He smiled and shook his head like he was remembering something funny. "I had just changed and when i walked around i looked drunk. I just stumbled around. Not long after i had changed did the bell go. Everyone left and i was left wondering how to change back. I ended up walking back to the dorms looking like a drunk wolf and got so Meany stares"

I smiled at Jason. We sat in silence for a while. I was staring at the table when i smelt it again. Cinnamon and Garlic, barley strong enough to smell.

I looked around the room again. That's when i saw her again. The girl i had seen at Assembly. She was glaring at me from the other side of the room, her jet black hair pulling into a ponytail behind her head, black curls looking elegant even when her dark brown eyes were narrowed onto me in a hateful glare. Her friends were sitting around with her, all reading or talking to each other quietly. I locked her gaze wondering what i had ever done for her to hate me so much. She could be the one who killed Heath. She could be the killer. I mentally slapped myself. It was a possibility that the Cinnamon and Garlic person could be a girl. It would make more sense.

I snapped back to reality when someone waved at hand in front of my face. "Earth to Kat" I looked at Jason who grinned and shook his head. "Jeez girl, for a while there i thought i lost you"

I looked back as the girl stood up, one of her friends looked up and asked her something. The black hair'd girl said something short and quick, then stalked towards the exit, muttering something to herself. Jason watched her to.

"Ray Evens. 3rd year Wolf, all year bitch" Jason stopped and clenched his jaw then looked at me. "Don't let her get to you. She's nasty to nearly everyone. All you have to do is look at her wrong and she will hate you forever....." Jason glanced towards the door then back at me. "I'd tell you to stay away from her but i think you can figure that much out yourself"

I nodded my head looking at the door which she had left though. "I don't think she likes me"

Jason chuckled. "She doesn't like a lot of people" he said seconds before the bell rang over the school and people moved towards their next class.
