"Which one have you chosen?" Diana asked Sofi excitedly.
"Moll, of course!" Sofi replied with a hint of haughtiness, shaking her head in a why-do-you-even-ask way.
"Me, too!" Diana gushed.
I silently listened to their exchange, having no opinion of my own on the matter.
When it came to organizing my life, I had a tendency to do everything last minute. Or rather: last second. That was... if I did not forget about it completely...
"Yeah, Moll is definitely the better choice!" Jul agreed.
We were a few days into our fifth year at grammar school, after the long summer break. (Which had been preceded by a rather exhausting bicycle trip. Don't ask! Suffice it to say that the constantly blowing wind had definitely not been in our favor... )
The current topic was all everybody had been talking about for days. One might almost consider it a matter of life and death.

All heads immediately swivelled towards her, upon hearing the bold declaration.
Taking in the various looks of sympathy and pity thrown her way, Lisa's smile turned to an expression of confusion. She slowly lowered herself onto her seat.
"What?" She challenged, obviously trying to make sense of why everybody was staring the way they were.
"Mirabell? Seriously?" Jul enquired, shaking her head with obvious disgust. She was never one to mince her words.
"Yes, why not?" Lisa countered, sounding a bit defensive.
"But that's where all the... well... less educated people go!" Sofi exclaimed, raising her hands. Her fingers were spread wide, which was a clear sign of her agitation.
"That's complete nonsense!" Lisa declared, rolling her eyes. "I shall attend with my boyfriend and he is definitely not... less educated!" She added with a huff.
Her boyfriend...? When had that happened...?!
"Good morning everybody – sit down." Unfortunately, the familiar voice of our maths teacher interrupted our conversation, before I had time to ask for the details. Well, there was always the next break...
