Chapter 25
Liam's point of view
The boys had all had a full month off while their movie was released, but now they were getting back into things, ready for the Australasian part of their tour.
“Hey Paul,” Liam said, giving the man a welcoming hug. Liam hadn't seen Paul in a month. I hope Paul had a good time with his family.
Paul grinned back. “Good to see you again, Liam. Did you have a good break?”
Liam nodded. He had managed to catch up with friends and spent some time at home with his family. But he had also spent a lot of time in London and had hung out with the other boys regularly, especially Niall. Liam and Niall had gone to the gym together every day that they had both been in London.
Liam chatted with Paul until the other boys had all arrived. Once they were all there, Paul grinned and pulled out a cut-out newspaper article and showed it to them. “Hey boys, have look at this,” Paul said, smiling.
As Liam took the article, the other boys crowded in behind Liam. “Goat accused of robbery," Liam said, reading the headline. He continued reading the article to the other boys, “Police in Nigeria are holding a goat on suspicion of attempted armed robbery. Vigilantes seized the black and white goat, saying it was an armed robber who had used black magic to transform himself into an animal to escape after trying to steal a Mazda 323.” According the the article, the police were holding the goat in custody until the shape-shifter turned back into a human. The article finished by noting that belief in magic was widespread in Nigeria. Of course, the Western media think this is hilarious and shows the stupidity of Africans, Liam thought.
Niall cracked up laughing. “Ha, the guy turned into a goat, and he still got caught! Awesome.” Niall chuckled away to himself.
“A goat? Really?” Louis asked, sounding skeptical. “If I had the power of shape-shifting, I wouldn't use it to turn into something as dumb as a goat.”
“Yeah, a dragon would be much cooler!” Zayn said. Liam nodded in agreement. A dragon would definitely be cooler.
“Well the guy probably wanted to blend in,” Harry pointed out thoughtfully. “In Africa, a goat is going to go unnoticed, a dragon, not so much!” Niall cracked up laughing again and then imitated a dragon trying to hide.
“A dragon would be the wrong size though,” Liam added thoughtfully. “I've seen some shape-shifters practising, and it's really difficult for them to change their weight. If they want to change into something bigger, they've got to use sticks or stones or something to use in their new shape to give them the extra weight and it takes a really long time. A goat would be easy because it's near human-sized.” The other boys nodded.
Still chuckling at the story, the boys trailed out onto the stage to begin their interview.
After the interview was over, Liam looked at his watch. Cool, we've still got time to go to the gym. Liam looked around for Niall and found the beautiful blue-eyed boy staring at him. Niall's eyes were twinkling. Checking me out again, huh, Niall? Liam grinned at the other boy. Liam knew from the mind-links just how much Niall enjoyed looking at him.
“Wanna go to the gym?” Liam asked the Irish lad. Niall's eyes lit up some more and he nodded vigorously. Niall was actually enjoying their sessions at the gym, since he was able to use Liam's body.
Liam grabbed his gym bag and they headed off.
