Chapter 28: Boyfriends...?

 Chapter 28

Liam's point of view

“Good evening Adelaide!” Liam shouted, as the boys began their first concert in the Australian part of their tour. It's good to be back doing this, Liam thought. Although the break had been welcome, all the boys were glad to be back performing. It's just what we love doing, Liam thought. All the boys were now sufficiently rich from their music that they could give it up at any time and live the rest of their lives in luxury from what they'd already earned. But none of them would ever do that. We all love our music too much to give it up.

During the Kiss You song, Louis slipped over spectacularly on some water and fell onto his back, and lay unmoving for several seconds. Liam snorted with laughter because the fall looked just so funny. He couldn't have done it better if he'd slipped on a banana peel! Although, I guess I should feel bad for him... what if he's hurt? But I suppose he can block the pain and heal himself. Zayn and Harry had both wandered over to check on the fallen Louis, so Liam left them to it and continued singing. After a minute Louis got up and continued on with the concert.

However when it next came to Louis' turn to sing, his voice didn't come though clearly, and Liam blinked as Zayn broke in, singing Louis' line for him. Oh! Louis must have damaged his mic in the fall. He'll have to grab another one. Niall walked over and handed Louis a new mic.The boys had gotten used to dealing with equipment failure in their concerts as the mics or earpieces sometimes played up on them. Liam noticed how Niall's white shirt and tight black trousers emphasized the muscles Niall was beginning to develop from their time spent at the gym together. Liam licked his lips as he looked over the cute blond's body.

Later in the concert, in response to one of the Twitter questions, Liam and Niall both tried to rap. I'm good at beatboxing, but not so good at rapping, Liam thought, as he tried not to burst out laughing as they both failed hard. Liam caught Niall's eyes for a moment, and smiled at the huge grin Niall had on his face. I love how excited Niall gets about this sort of thing and how into it he gets.

Niall's point of view

Niall sighed, and rolled over in his bed, trying to sleep. It feels so weird to sleep alone.

Niall was missing James. Or at least, I'm missing having a boyfriend. Now I have to sleep alone. And I'm not getting any cuddling or sex. And, yeah, I guess I'm missing James.

Despite them being a week into their Australian tour, 'Niam' was still no closer to being real. What's it going to take to make Liam actually be my boyfriend? Niall wondered.

Sighing, Niall gave up on sleep and wandered out into the common room to see if anyone else was awake. Niall wasn't entirely surprised to find Zayn there. That boy sleeps some weird hours.

Zayn was on his computer, looking at internet articles about the boys. For someone who spends so long on the internet, he doesn't post to Twitter much, Niall thought. Zayn seemed to have almost entirely given up on Twitter. Though it's understandable. Zayn had received a lot of hate on Twitter after the videos of him 'cheating' on Perrie had emerged. He could just have told everyone they're in an open relationship, Niall thought. But I suppose management wouldn't allow it.

As Zayn noticed Niall, his expression turned sympathetic. Zayn gestured Niall over to sit beside him and gave Niall a hug and a kiss on the cheek. “Link?” Zayn suggested. Niall nodded and reached out with his mind to form the link with Zayn.

Niall was immediately surprised by how much Zayn's emotions mirrored his own.

Zayn was missing Perrie and also James. And Zayn was also sad that any chance of a relationship between himself and James seemed on hold at the moment. Zayn had also been finding sleeping alone unpleasant and was missing sex too.
