Chapter 31

Harry's point of view

“Goodnight Sydney!” Harry shouted, before walking off stage with the other boys.

The concert had gone well. Excellently even.

Harry and Louis had made a game of teasing Liam and Niall, by always getting physically in between them on stage, so that Liam and Niall could never touch. Louis had suggested it, and Harry had quickly agreed. After all, we can't have them outing themselves by getting too carried away on stage right? Though the truth was that Harry had simply found it hilarious to watch Liam's face as he was denied access to Niall.

Zayn, who had returned from working with James just before the concert, had watched all their antics with an amused look but hadn't participated himself.

Now that we're off stage I wonder how long it will take Liam and Niall to...

Harry rolled his eyes as he walked past the last clothes rack and encountered Liam and Niall. Liam had Niall pressed up against the wall and the two were joined at the mouth.

Harry sniggered.

Fortunately for them, there's no post-concert VIP backstage tours to do today with the fans.

Louis gave the snogging couple a cat-call as he walked past on the way to his dressing room.

“Can't you two literally get a room?” Paul asked them as he walked in. “You've got dressing rooms you know.”

Liam unattached his mouth from Niall's and turned and blinked at Paul and Harry as if wondering who they were and where he was. “Oh. Um. Oh, yeah. Okay. All right. Sorry,” Liam muttered vaguely, before pulling Niall by the hand towards an empty dressing room.

Niall shot Harry a 100 megawatt grin as he walked passed. Harry grinned back. Niall's grins have a way of doing that, Harry thought. Even without his power, Niall's emotions still seem contagious. He has a way of making people around him happy when he's happy.

After returning to the hotel, as they walked down the corridor toward their rooms, Harry frowned. I can sense a person with the Teleportation power in our rooms. It must be James or Beth. But neither person had a good reason to be there. Beth didn't stay in the hotels with the boys and only came to transport them when requested. Oh, maybe she's here to take Zayn back to James? But when Harry looked over at Zayn he found the other boy looking confused also. The rest of the boys didn't seem to have noticed the anomaly.

Harry opened the door to their rooms and entered to find Beth sitting in a chair twiddling her thumbs. She looked up when the others entered and smiled and reached for her cellphone.

“Hi Beth. Um, what are you doing here?” Paul spoke up.

Beth held up a hand to silence him and dialled a number on her cellphone. Speaking into it she said “Yes, they're here now. Their concert must have finished. I'll put you on speaker.”

Beth did so, and then a familiar voice spoke up through the phone, “Hello boys, can you all hear me?” Harry immediately recognised the refined English accent as belonging to Alistair Wilson.

“Yep” “Yip” “Yeah” “Yes” “Yup” came the chorus of answers.

“I'm calling,” Alistair continued, “Because we've had a breakthrough in locating another prison facility. One of our devices to detect power suppression fields was triggered in Colombia, when one of our people happened to travel past a fortress there.”
