Why did the weekend have to come and go so fast? I honestly had the best weekend and I didn't want it to end. Both Chase and I didn't go to the party Friday night, but we did enjoy watching Orange is the New Black. Saturday we spent the day out with his little brother, Braxton, at the park. Let me tell you this little boy was honestly the cutest and most entertaining child I've ever met. Now it was Sunday and Chase, along with his little brother, where in my living room watching some cartoons as I prepared a snack.
"You know you don't have to do all this."
A rather large hand settled itself on my waist and my back was pulled back up against a quite muscular chest. In this moment I was thanking the Lord for my melanin or I would've been red as a fire truck.
"Brax told me how much he loved avocado, so why not make him some
guac and chips."I had a small kids plate out, it had three little places cut out for you to split portions of food. So I had some chips in one, guacamole in another, and some fruit snacks in the last space available. I smiled at how the plate looked before taking it back to the living, setting it in front of the hungry toddler.
Going back into the kitchen I found Chase against the counter looking at me with a look I could distinguish."He likes you, a lot."
I could feel the heat spread throughout my cheeks. If this boy don't stop!
— later on that night —
I bid my goodbyes to Braxton and Chase as they got into Chase's car, going home for the night. I went back inside and checked the living room area before head upstairs. Once in my room I pulled out my laptop and FaceTimed Brooke, seconds later her face popped up on the screen.
"She's alive I can't believe it!"
Brooke's sarcastically spoke upon answering my call.
"Okay drama queen, I'm sorry for not hitting you up the weekend."
"One you ditched me Friday and two, how come I had to find out from Abbey Davis you went out with Chase."
I sighed taking a deep breath about to spill all the tea from this weekend to my best friend.
When I was finished Brooke had out a case of Oreos and was sipping down on a glass of milk."Girl you lyin! So y'all watched Netflix, but didn't chill!?"
"No!"
I covered my face, cringing at the idea of Netflix and Chill.
"Don't act like you wouldn't have enjoyed it. Anyways since we pouring out tea, I've got some in my tea kettle ready to spill."
Brooke filled me in on how her and Marco made out at the party Friday. She also included how Taylor was giving her the cold shoulder because Luke hit on her.
"Bre why would I want that small nut sack if I got a cute ass Italian?! Like no boo boo ain't nobody want your man."
I couldn't contain my laughter, she was cracking me up. Her nonstop insults toward Luke were killing me.
Speaking of Taylor, she hadn't spoke to me since the day Chase asked me out. I'd sent her text Saturday afternoon to see how she was doing and I still have yet to receive a response."So other than your intense lip locking, anything else happen this weekend?"
"Nah it was pretty dry to be honest, but who cares opening game is tomorrow night anyway."
I gasped, totally forgetting that tomorrow night was the first football game of the season.
"Girl don't stress it. You'll be good as long as you game day bag is packed and knowing you it's probably packed."
I looked over my shoulder at the bag in the corner of my room.
"Go ahead and go get it we'll do a run down together."
Brooke read my mind because in less than a minute I had grabbed the bag and was seated in front on the camera with it in my lap. Opening the side pocket first I held up my shoes to the camera just as Brooke did.
"Check."
We both said as we sealed the shoes back into the pocket. Inside the bag I had all I needed from my uniform to my emergency bow. Brooke was right I was good to go.
"Also don't forget to meet me tomorrow morning in the gym with the other cheerleaders. We'll be putting war paint on our faces."
"Okie Dokie. See tomorrow morning B, love you!"
"Love you too Bre, love you."
I hung up the call and shut my laptop off climbing into my bed very satisfied with my weekend.
