Man was it cold, like this is California was cold even a thing?? All I know it wasn't usually like this I still didn't like it, nor did the toddler cuddled into my side did. I held Braxton in my lap as we watched the last few minutes of the game unfold. For weeks the poor kid had begged Chase to let him come watch a game but he was now quickly asleep in my arms, snoring softly.

"He must really like you."

I turned to my right seeing a lady in a hat and coat smile at me, but I could recognize her from anywhere. Please dear God not this again.

"Uh I-i gotta go."

I was about to stand and walk away from her, but she was quick to stop me.

"Please tell them I love them."

She said, I could hear a crack in her voice and when I turned to look at her again a tear fell.

"Would you like to give him a kiss? I'd let you hold him, but Chase would get suspicious and I don't want to risk loosing him again."

A smile once again came to her face and I held Braxton a little close to her so she could give him a small kiss.

"Thank you. I can see now why my son's in love with you, he choose right."

She smiled one last time then got up to leave. Too caught up in her walking away I didn't noticed the final whistle had been blown and the game was now over. I stood, securing Braxton in my arms and I walked down to bleachers to the parking lot where I found Chase's car. Opening his car I strapped Braxton in and patiently waited for the star quarterback. Soon enough Chase came walking towards the car with his things. After helping him put his things in the trunk he and I both walked over to the divers door.

"Let me walk you to your car."

"No need, I'm just a couple spots down and plus you've got the most gorgeous child in your car, don't want anything happening to him."

I giggled as Chase took this chance to wrap his arms around me.

"He's not that cute, but what can I say he gets it all from me."

I playfully shoved Chase causing him to laugh, but once the laughter died down I had to say something.

"I know you probably don't want to listen to this right now, but I want to tell you before you loose what I once had."

"Bre if this is about my-"

"Chase I know what she did was wrong, but loosing a parent is one thing, but loosing both is another. She loves you and Braxton with all shes got and I know she'd give the world for the two of you. Just let her do so. Be lucky you've got someone like her, because many people out there would die for a mother like yours."

As I spoke to him his expressions changed, going from angry to now sorrowful. When I was finished he and I both didn't say a world, we kind just stood there looking at each other.

"He meant a lot to you didn't he?"

"More than you can imagine."

I smiled up at him leaning up on my tippy toes, placing a soft kiss on his lips.

"Talk to her."

I told him before hugging him one last time and walking towards my car. All I hoped was for him to see that his mother truly loved him and for how lucky he was to have a mother that loved him so much. If only I could get my mom back, but that too far gone and it's time to live in the now. There is no longer time to waste dwelling in the past.
