Avery POV
"Turner!!!" I whipped around at the call of my name.
"Yes, Captain" why would the Captain be talking to me? Oh gosh, is he firing me? I hope not. I really need this job.
"We have a very special guest that's about to board at 3:30. Go to the boarding dock when you're done here. I want you to show him around the cruise and stay with him the entire time. Anything he needs you give it to him stat, understand?" I gave a shaky nod and went back to folding the newly dried towels. Special guest, he said. Could it be an artist? Oh my gosh....what if it's a really hot actor? Jesus, I don't think I could handle that. Imagine being around a really hot and sexy man 24/7? Especially when you're gay....
Calm down Avery. It's probably a friend of the Captain. I finished off the last towel and dusted off my pants. Wouldn't want to be dirty for this special guest. I made my way into the boarding deck and waited patiently for the Captain to show up with this "special guest".
HONK HONK!!!!
The cruise came to a slow stop. My hands went to my outfit checking the lapels of my vest and the bow on my neck. Presentation is everything. The doors opened and the people started to come in one by one, showing their passports and cruise ticket. My eyes stayed on every single face that went through. Maybe I could see this person before the Captain brought them to me.
"Turner" I turned round at the sound of the Captain, and thank God I did. Next to the Captain was a tall and hot human being. He was around 5 foot 7, dark brown hair with light brown eyes, and a jaw that could cut steel.
"This here is Jathos Stravos. His father owns the cruise line. Remember, anything he wants, you give." I muttered a shy 'yes, sir' and watched as he turned on his heels and left for the cabin. Jathos was silently watching me, grinning in a mischievous way.
"So" he looked closely at my name tag, "Avery, can you show me my room? I'm very tired " I tried to look at his eyes but quickly diverted my gaze. I never could look people in the eye for long; especially if they were handsome men.
"Y-yes, sir. I-if I could s-see your ticket" he gave me a wink as his hand stretched outward with the ticket. My cheeks were flaming up at the personality of this man. "This w-way please" I went to pick up one of his suitcases but he just said, "don't worry cutie, I'll handle the manly stuff", and then stood there as if he hadn't just sort of insulted me. A few sparks of anger went off in my head, but I had to calm myself. I'd heard of employees who had snapped at vacationers and were fired by the next day and left at the next stop. Didn't need that in my life.
"If you'll please follow me" the only thing I liked about being mad is that my shyness was almost nonexistent and I didn't stumble over my words. I didn't even check if he was following me or not, and frankly, I could care less right now. The best thing was, I knew where he was staying and I was going to avoid that area with all my might........until my anger went down and logic had me doing my job the best way I can. "Here we are, suite 103." I basically jammed the key in and threw the door open, thanking whoever made the ship put those door stoppers behind the door so that it had a soft open.
"We clean the rooms from 8 to 9. If you need anything extra leave a note somewhere easy to find and we'll provide you with it. If you want we also have room service so that you don't have to go to the dining room. Our next stop is in two days. Anything else?" I hadn't paid attention to him; I was more focused on making sure the room was clean and ready for him to stay at. If he complained about anything, doesn't matter what it is, I'll be held responsible for it and have to somehow make it better.
